Absolutely right Why would they just give the money away? They could still pull out after it passes and lose the 17 million if they chose too, but they will absolutely force them into making the decision.
It will be like being taken over by by the Galactic Empire with the Emperor as owner and Darth Vader as chief spokesman. St James Park will be like the Death Star perched up on top of that hill.
@Mr 55p I mean before this takeover story broke I along with most the people who've suddenly become life long human rights campaigners went about there lives without a seconds thought for what goes on in Saudi or anywhere else. I'm not sure what's worse... Not caring or all of a sudden pretending you care when really it's all about greed and jealousy. In short... Theres two sides to this one...
dear PL. can you please pass or fail the withdrawn bid for Newcastle from PIF. Love, Newcastle fans. Don’t forget to CC BoJo
The commercial transaction is between PIF and Ashley. No formal withdrawal to the PL has been submitted.
show me an article that states it hasn’t. The one last week in the chronicle stating it has been withdrawn seems a bit wrong then https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...newcastle-united-takeover-update-pif-18699518
it hasn’t. Well shoot me down with a feather. Dear PL, please reject a deal that is no longer going through with Ashley and Newcastle. Love and Kisses, the barcodes.
It's only when it hits home that people care. Saudi's taking over an English football team? Football is basically many peoples lives, meaning its hitting home. Its human nature. I dont care what happens in Saudi Arabia, its not my country, I know they can be more than a little naughty. but it doesnt directly affect me. But now they are taking over my clubs rivals. I personally dont want them involved in English football. I'm old school (id put a limit on no. of foreigners playing for English clubs if it wasnt illegal). I'd sooner them fail, particularly as its Newcastle, but I'd feel the same if it was Villa or Fulham. But if they succeed, I'm not exactly gonna start shouting at Arabs and holding placards up in large crowds. However some people will. Some people who werent even aware of Saudi's human rights record before this are now gonna bat Newcastle with it until they hopefully submit. If they do succeed you's will be the baddies, it will be interesting, and I suspect it wont be plain sailing. I suspect Newcastle United would be fighting on 2 fronts in future. Football and political. Will it work?
I think it would just fade away over a season or two personally... It might resurface if they ever got close to winning anything, but this wasn't going to be the big sports wash people thought... The money wasn't going to be anything above the average really..
What decision, have PIF not decided if they have withdrawn yet. Maybe they should release a statement that they haven’t withdrawn then.
They’ve pretended to withdraw apparently, and have suckered their actual partners in the deal, the bloke they were buying off, plus the U.K. PM into believing their con. As they’ve not really withdrawn, they’ve just clearly said they have, and the PL aren’t expected to have believed them, so it still sits with them or something. It’s genius stuff.
