If the Ombudsman has been asked to get involved it suggests that something isn't right....

 

Of course they never failed it, so it makes it obvious

 

It’s all gone very quiet in the tabloids.

 

Is this still rumbling on? They withdrew so its over. I'd like to see it go ahead obviously but realistically you'd now be talking about an almighty climb down, and a number of significant players (club owners, PL bods etc) all having to cave.

Personally i just don't see the above happening. The PL will be concocting a very bland ambiguous statement that will tell very little but tick the right boxes.

Who knows, mate. Are the PL hoping one of these "rival bids" comes off? Possible.

I can't believe the PL are still trying to decide - I think it's more likely a case of the consortium needing to state something they aren't willing or able to do (i.e. name MBS as a Director), which is the impasse. I fluctuate between believing it's all related to some deep rooted corruption to actually just being something "simple" the consortium should do, but can't/won't.

If the Saudis come back to the table does the whole process need to start from the beginning again? Or can they just start from where they left off?

 

They allegedly haven't withdrawn their offer so would just be from where they left off.

What will they do? Force the PL to accept a withdrawn bid.

Make decision that sees either it pass or fail.

Nobody just says there's 17 million no need to make any decision.

I can imagine Newcastle having different kinds of problems if the deal goes through. Mike Ashley type problems will go, but Saudi type problems will arrive.

 

The bid was made by PIF to Ashley. Then ‘withdrawn’. And both parties are said to be keen on progressing it still.

this part of the process is Separate to the PL’s test as it’s a separate transaction with a separate body.

contrary to what the Mersey mackem says therefore, there is no evidence at all that the test has been cancelled or that it has been requested to be cancelled.

based on all know facts therefore, the PL silence is probably because the test is still live so they can’t.

AS whipping up supporters and media is likely to be just a tactic to hurry the PL along,

Mira the only obvious explanation and sometimes the most obvious one is the correct one.

 

I’d take that mate. Off field stuff I can take but it’s on the field I’m bothered about.
