60 Years... thats dedication ... I salute you Beddytare!

 

Actually guys I first started to see both Pompey and Saints home games all those years ago......Grandfather and uncle supported Pompey (ex Navy) other uncle supported Saints (ex army) (my Dad supported Dundee Utd didn't get to see them too often living down here LOL)
So after a while My uncle got married so I had to go down the dell on my own (Still going to Pompey with Grandfather), with the occasional company of my now married uncle. (shows you what married life was like then, no freedom.) His sons are both Saints fans. The eldest of whom sits next to me and is a season ticket holder. He has been a saints fan for nigh on 45 years his brother also a season ticket holder a Saints fan for over 40 years. So yes there is quite a bit of dedication from us all. With my cousins, mine and their dad, that equates to over 200 years support over about an 85 year time span. Blimey never thought of that before! Gee that's a lot of support!! I am sure my cousins and I deserve a medal....

 

Wow, its kicking off over here already isn't it? Sign me up!

Seriously though, good to see the usual faces (well, names) on here although I do think we will be seeing quite a few imposters on here over the coming weeks before the mass exodus in May.

Kingsland, polite question. Why are you allowed to edit my posts? Surely thats on the path to censorship.

 

Colin ....can I ask exactly what was edited out or was it adding something? The reason I ask is that Kingsland doesn't have the power to edit. The only ones to do that as far as I know is the main moderators that moderate all the boards. Even then I am not sure that your article can be edited.
I seem to remember I posted a response to your quip too
Also are you aware of the swearing option, bottom left of the screen? I am not suggesting that you actually swore in your post, but is that a possible answer.

Beddy, Colin's original post is as he quotes above and like all the other comments posted in the period between 1200-1300 on the 9.2.2011 were perfectly polite.

Nothing contentious but it clearly stated that the post was edited by Kingsland! This cant be right.

 

My mistake - my original post was at 04.05 PM, Kingsland edited it at 04.08 PM

 

Also, I only have the Edit Post option for my comments, not someone elses. Do the Mods have this option for all posts?

It is there in black and white, so difficult to argue that this has indeed not been edited by KingslandSFC!

What on earth does 'rep power' mean?

 

On other forums I have used, the moderators are allowed to edit peoples posts if they use abusive language. I have not seen moderators being able to add comments; just hide words with stars.

This privilage willl cause havoc if abused.

 

To be honest i don't want to see this issue become any bigger than it has. Clearly a few of us feel raw but i suspect we will learn from it and start afresh. An acknowledgement that something did actually happen is all people want.

The NOT606 policy wants to be more 'blokey' and get away from the nancy-style BBC blanket moderation.

For example, i posted a light-hearted article about the Andy Gray incident and actually defended women and pointed out that most women have better things to do than discuss the offside law and noted in many cases ref's don't even get it right.

I used clever irony and the first person to 'skim-read' left a snotty arrogant message and the article was gone. It will be a dark day when British humour is crushed by 'well informed fools'.
