If enough political pressure is applied they will answer. They wouldn’t want the Government to introduce an outside regulatory body with teeth to overseer the Premier League which could be done if the politicians believe it is necessary.
I don't forsee the government getting too involved... They won't want to suffer any backlash about human rights and their own involvement in it.
Governments over the last number of years have increasingly set up such regulatory bodies to oversee organisations which previously had self governed and self regulated. I wouldn’t swear to it but i have a vague feeling that they have looked at football previously with this in mind but decided not to at that time. Could be wrong on that but I’m sure if not football it was sport based business.
In all honesty we will never get the truth and ultimately nufc has been denied. If I was raped knowing the reason why wouldn't make the experience any better.
Nothing to do with human rights. Nothing to do with piracy. If it was related to those the Saudi's would have been failed immediately. Especially true of piracy given the PL has tried to enforce IP rights several times. That leaves the influence of others. Clubs, commercial partners and external pressure. None of which are part of the O & D test. The NDA no longer exists. Parties to the deal are free to talk and explain.
8 I have no doubt nufc has been bumped, but I'm just saying knowing the reason won't make the outcome any different or any better.... I've said this a few times, but it'll matter not one iota when we sell our best players, struggle and get relegated.... This will live long in our minds...
The PL are probably grateful that games will still be behind closed doors. The first home game live in a full stadium would be interesting.
Like Geordieginola said the its just extra pleasure for the fans other teams.. A full stadium full of Newcastle fans watching their team lose amid anti Premier league protests. The deals gone, so baring a dramatic change once all the emails, petitions and letters are sent its either go and forget it or don't go.. I see no gain in providing further pleasure elsewhere.
I’ll go for the dramatic change then. If someone screwed me over I’m pretty damn sure I wouldn’t just accept it. I’d do something about it. Even if this deal isn’t resurrected I would still be happy if the PL got totally mugged if they did anything underhand or corrupt etc.
The way Staveley has pursued Barclays suggests that she will do the same to the PL. More than likely to expose potential corruption. Mike Ashley - Likely has a claim for restraint of trade which has cost him circa £283 million. As it relates to potenrial financial loss he can be awarded general damages and special damages. He still has the asset, but the value may drop due to Covid. In other words, if found in his favour, it could be expensive.
Oh I'm sure they'll take some kind of legal proceedings if indeed they have grounds, but ultimately nufc will still be stuck with Ashley, so I don't this this is a good long term look.. Make our complaints as we have and then make decisions on whether to go or not is all I'm saying.... Its over PIF don't want the club amid covid 19 uncertainty... They said its no longer commercially viable.
Only, the Saudis Statement cited global uncertainty as part of their reason and clearly says that the potential investment was no longer commercially viable. As for Ashley, isn’t he £17m up as it stands like?
The Saudi have just had our trousers down in the end.. And stavely and the reubans brothers and Mike ashley and the premier league
I mean this was the best one yet.... A pandemic came along bang in line with when the buyers were about to go all in after years of negotiations... Cursed club
