I am writing to you as a constituent. As my local MP I would urge you to help me and thousands of other Newcastle United supporters get answers from the Premier League.
On 5th August 2020 Newcastle United Supporters Trust wrote a statement asking that they support our call for transparency from the Premier League
https://nufctrust.co.uk/news-story/nufc-takeover-statement-august-2020/
I am not writing to ask you to comment on the takeover of a football club or indeed a football matter. I am calling for you to help me get answers from the Premier League on their process:
I ask that you write directly to the Premier League and ask them:
1) Why did a process which generally takes a month last so long, 17 weeks and counting, without coming to any decision?
2) Is it true that several Premier League clubs objected to the takeover and what influence do the views of competing clubs have in the approval process?
3) Do you agree that it is unacceptable to leave loyal fans in such doubt for so long and that the process needs to be improved? For example, it is clear certainly press was briefed but there was no dialogue or engagement with fans at all?
4) Do you think it is fair that Newcastle United has been left severely disadvantaged as a consequence of the delay?
The supporters of Newcastle United have been ignored by the Premier League. The Premier League may have sound reasons for drawing out the takeover process for more than four months and the Premier League may have done everything they needed to do to protect their business and Newcastle United.
We, the members of the Supporters Trust firmly believe our elected representatives must come together to get answers for football supporters.
Please support the Newcastle United Supports Trust get the answers we deserve from the Premier League. Support the cross-party call to action

I took your advice but got a rather nasty email back saying **** you you Geordie twat. We don’t want you nouveau rich northeast bastards trying to break our Premier League monopoly
Guess that’s what happens when you live in the Stretford Constituency.

. as well

I put my own questions in anyway.

It doesnt matter none will be answered.

This will just go away...

Might get a there there from somewhere and then a supportive comment towards the premier leagues process, human rights and piracy issues.

At the end of the day we all know whats gone on here, but PIF pulled out in the end and they along with us have lost on this one.

It's down to us as individuals to decide whether we want to be part of the club and premier league I guess.

1.Why was the takeover not failed if you had grounds on which to fail it?

2. Why was confidentiality broken and why were other Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham allowed to influence the procedure?

3. What influence did Qatar have during the fit and proper persons test?

4. Given our government is paid billions to supply arms to Saudi Arabia and PIF already own large stakes in several UK Buisnessess including more recently BT, wouldn’t you agree that the calls to block this sale on human rights grounds to be both hypocritical and shortsighted?

5. What comment would you like to provide surrounding the denial of millions of pounds in investment to the underfunded city of Newcastle heading in to uncertain financial times post brexit /covid 19 through your decision to not pass this takeover?

My guess is that there would have been legitimate reasons to fail it and poor reasons to fail it. None of which will come to light, for the benefit of all parties.

So they should have failed it then surely?

I agree there will be no clarity

trouble is the big bad monster living under the bed is coming out to haunt them

I can imagine them all standing round a table with an important piece of paper in the middle.

'Right then lads, its agreed, we're gonna fail it, Whose gonna sign it?'

'Not me!' 'Nor me!' 'Piss off!'

That piece of paper still sits there to this day.

Or vice versa

I'm astonished that the PL are maintaining complete silence. I've never seen a storm like it in football terms - scores of MP's writing to the PL and Government, yet the PL - as is always the case with corrupt organisations - are willing and able to say absolutely nothing.

They have started a **** storm and are probably frantically asking BEin how to stop it.

We're ****ed... If anything the government and the media will congratulate masters and the premier league while saying "there there" to the people of Newcastle... We might even get the tories tell telling us how much they've invested here and will continue to invest is my bet.

The end result of this will be watching the club dismantle and fall off the grid, while opposing fans and the media chant about us having no morals and enjoying watching the club and City struggle.

Is it still as reported with the premier league? Or has Staveley miltised us and sent us into battle like General custer?
