I don't care about the odds, just make a F***ing decision Mark Ashton, and or Steve Landsdown. It's pi$$ poor from the pair of them that they sacked a manager, and a month later, we are still no further on with his replacement. And when they haven't had the pre-season and time to assess the squad that is required in this short summer break, they will still expect them to compete for the play-offs.

Our club has become a laughing stock under MA and SL recently.

Laughing stock? I'm pretty sure no other fans are particularly interested in the goings on at Ashton Gate and how do you know we are no further on? Nobody knows what is going on behind the scenes others than those that are involved and that's how it should be until a contract is signed.

Well, with no manager appointed, I assess as a club, we are no further on, but just my opinion.

Its painful to admit but that is 100% spot on if Holden, already part of a failed management/coaching setup gets the nod.
We talk the talk but when push comes to shove we don't walk the walk, we just act like mean rank amateurs as per usual who will pay for the best for the egg chasers but not for the football.
The ambition talk is only a disguise for actually not having any, and being quite happy where we are. I can see this having a serious affect on attendances as and when people return.
I am not at all interested in Bristol Sport, just Bristol City FC, but the football club part under Lansdown and his henchmen has just become a rich mans toy !

Yeah I'm not usually one to go toys out of the pram re: city but unfortunately I echo Red Robin today (get me a cider ffs).

How ****ing underwhelming if this is true. I don't want to write off Holden, he might be top notch, but there are so many strong candidates out there right now that we could go for. Rather than yet another punt.

#BristolCity head coach update: The Robins - as reported elsewhere and covered yesterday in part - are leaning towards Dean Holden as their permanent head coach. Nothing is finalised, but talks have begun on the possible makeup of his backroom staff. More soon on @bristolcitylive

They are even discussing his backroom staff it's rumoured, if true what a absolute balls up, LJ goes and they replace him with his number 2, part of the failure.

How on earth is anybody supposed to believe anything spouted by the powers that be at Ashton Gate? If Holden is appointed then anyone considering becoming a player for City will run for any other option because we have created a space where you can't speak up or have an opinion. After yet another fiasco masterminded by SL and MA who would want to join us based on our past when it comes down the wire?

If this ridiculous appointment goes ahead then I for one will believe that our club is controlled by people who wouldn't know a good manager if they saw one coming down the road wearing a Bristol City shirt. Finally my utter disgust at how my club is run knows no bounds and this for me is the final straw unless they wake up to the reality of their stupidity and come to the conclusion that good managers want good money but obviously Lansdown doesn't get that message.

I often joked about the name of our training ground as Failand and how prophetic a name. I am starting to think that SL doesn't like people who know what they are doing because his power is threatened and clearly the mandate of hiring the most suited person has gone down with the ship and all hope has vanished beneath the waves. Shocking business.

If you know of any cheaper options then please call Bristol City FC.

I'm not kidding you, it's suggested they are holding up any anouncement because Holden is away on a short family break, there is a strong rumour that Tinnion will remain to help him or the possibility of bringing back Cole Skuse, Ashley Williams is another in consideration.

If these ideas prove to be true it really does show Lansdowns ambitions for Premier league status and how pitiful Mark Ashton has become.

Of course it could all be subterfuge.

I’m usually fairly patient, but it’s beginning to feel like they are taking the mick. Why sack LJ so early only to leave it this long to organise a replacement. Any advantage the gained by being proactive has disappeared.

The way I feel right now is if they announce Holden then if I get a chance due to COVID-19 to get my money back for next seasons SC which I’ve already bought I will bite their hands off.

    edit
What it reminds me of is when we won promotion from L1 with SC in Charge how we wasted the opportunity of winning the league and having a head start on the others to recruit Championship standard players and completely wasted any advantage by signing no one , I thought we’d learned our lesson , it seems , for now at least that we didn’t .

Will you be back if we are in promotion place or around play offs next season? Or will you still not be having anything to do with the club?
