Ahh, back to Fish&Chips Newland Fisheries is my new haunt. Beautiful Haddock, proper patties, mushy peas, scraps and a 3 minute walk from our house
Me!! Had my big 60 lockdown birthday in April, an awful time as we had the funeral for my brother the previous day (my only bro, who introduced me to City away games in late 70s/80s.) Anyway, a Happy Birthday to pierredelafranchesca, also all the best to Qatartiger C'tiger for tomorrow. (Go on, be a devil, enjoy the gravy!!)
We had them from the hut at the northern end of the main seafront in Brid on Friday. Both fish and chips were very nice, but the curry my youngest asked for was like actual proper curry sauce, sort of tomatoey and spicy. I thought it was great, but she was expecting your usual pale brown gravy with curry powder and sultanas in so left most of it.
In the early days of Lockdown - when you could walk down the centre of the road during your one permitted walk a day with no fear of getting mowed down by traffic - and no chip shops were open, out of desperation I resorted to oven chips and a packet of this: please log in to view this image All I can say is that I've never been so disappointed in my life. 35 years of marriage and a life time of supporting City are as nothing in comparison in the total letdown stakes.
Now come on Ernie, with a life time as long as yours supporting City, you must have been let down so many times and quite badly. It’s what makes us City!
