Good Morning. Its Tuesday 4th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Seagulls drop hint on White's future

Brighton chief Tony Bloom has suggested that Brighton have too many centre backs, and would listen to offers if bids were to come forward.

The somewhat bizarre claim comes days after Brighton secured the services of Dutch International (yes, you've guessed it) centre back Joel Veltman from Ajax for 900k

Bloom told The Athletic "I’m not going to speculate on whether we may or may not get offers for many of our players," "We certainly do have an abundance of centre-backs and there are constant discussions between myself and Graham and Dan (Ashworth, technical director) and the recruitment team about what our needs are, what’s going to be happening.

"There will be some players who go out on loan at some point during pre-season or the first few weeks of the season. "There are lots of things to make decisions on, but it’s a really good thing that we’ve got some very good players in our squad, not all of whom will be in our squad come the end of the transfer window."

White himself, currently sunning it up at the Costa's with Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts has not ruled out a return to West Yorkshire having posted the following on his social media account:-

"Having had some time to reflect on what has been the most incredible season, I wanted to take the time to thank everyone associated with Leeds United Football Club, including the incredible supporters," he wrote on social media. "No matter what happens from here I will never forget the way you took me in and treated me as one of your own from day one."

Spurs ready to release Rose - Mail on Sunday

The Mail on Sunday are reporting that Spurs are ready to let Danny Rose leave on a free transfer this summer, with Leeds ready to snap him up.

Tottenham stole Rose from the Leeds academy for 1m back in 2007. It took the Doncaster born wing back 4 or 5 loan seasons to finally find his feet, but when he did, he was one of the best in the Country, earning himself 29 England caps.

Leeds do face competition from Newcastle where Rose enjoyed a decent loan spell last term.

The 30yo has a year left on his contract. For a player allegedly worth 50m only a few seasons ago, it seems crazy that Tottenham would release him?

Could wages be a problem? Currently Spurs pay £65,000 a week for his services!

Conclusion of tonight's play off final likely to spark ER transfer activity

The Championship season will finally come to an end tonight with either Fulham or Brentford becoming 200m better off and heartbreak for the losers.

The bookies have the Bees as favourites at 4/7, with their West London neighbours 11/8 to be promoted.

Media sources are indicating that Leeds are waiting for the conclusion of this fixture before kicking off their transfer activities with many suggesting Bielsa is keeping tabs on Ollie Watkins and Saïd Benrahma.

Who would you like to see promoted?

    Morning all...

Fulham for promotion only because I’m hoping we’re going to raid Brentford. I’ve a horrible feeling I might be left disappointed, not because of the result, more because Ollie Watkins has a rumoured £18m release fee clause and that’s absolute peanuts to the more established PL teams.

Ben White would be a nice permanent addition, a bit concerning that Brighton could consider him surplus to requirements.

I’m not one for players returning but Danny Rose on a free sounds fantastic, you have to question why though, would his personality clash with Bielsa? Would he find Bielsas fitness demands too great and find himself frozen out?

    Danny Rose, my view:
Still one of the best RBs in England, still fast and powerful wing back and still an England player. Tons of experience so on paper a no brainer. However for the last 2 seasons Rose has wanted to be earning a lot more so has hawked himself via his agent and let it be known he wont sign a new contract unless its a big pay rise. Leeds fans have been waiting for 2 years for him to be sold for £50m so that we get £5m of the fee in sell on bonus. The offers Spurs got he turned down because his wages wouldnt be increased much. So has been running the clock down so he can walk away and because he goes for free will want his wages doubling at least.

Not worth upsetting our “TEAM” with a self centred arse

On the Ben White front If they wanted him they would have offered him a new contract they didn't. They wouldn't have brought in a new player but they did and I feel Potter wants a type of defence that doesn't need Ben White therefore he is a cash cow and is for sale. Bielsa has made them a ton of cash by developing a player for them, it will come down to how much we are willing to pay as some big teams go in for him because lets face it he will be in the England squad. White may want Leeds so hope he has a say in it

I don’t believe other PL teams would go too high for him, one good season in the Championship, he looked out of place when covering DM so it has to be a team needing a CB.

Yes worth a gamble for some but like you said elsewhere, he isn’t going to accept sitting on the bench for someone.

Breaking story in the last hour is that Feyenoord CB Marcos Senesi is wanted by Leeds Utd. The story was broken by a top well connected journo and he posted the news on twitter. Dick Advocaat is the manager of Feyenoord and follows the reporter. He replied to the tweet that Sensesi is a great player and we want to keep him but when big clubs like Leeds open their wallets......... so this could be on.

Didn't Dick Advocaat announce his retirement from management five years ago after guiding Sunderland to safety? If I remember right Sunderland fans bought his wife flowers for letting him stay only for him to be sacked a couple of months later.

I still don't think we'll get Ben White but i's say it's looking more likely than it was a week or two ago. If our scouting in Europe is good enough we could probably get better value for money elsewhere but that's the risk you take.

Dont want Rose! His career is only going one way now. Would prove to be an expensive (wages) stop gap imo.

I wish the club would just go and get Ben White.

Well said Doc, although I don’t believe for a minute Bielsa would want such a self centered player, I think Bielsa’s motto is the same as Bremner’s (side before self), so not just physically right, but also mentally right for the good of the team as a whole. So i don't think we will see any players that mainly want just a big pay packet coming in, but a player who genuinely wants to enhance their football careers under Bielsa. Will be a very interesting window, but i totally trust Bielsa's judgment
    Good morning everyone

Haha, morning all. Im still concerned about Bielsa not signed a new contract yet. I really hope that this is just a formality. I will be a happy chappy when he does and I can finally take a breath of relief.

With regards to the potential signings, Ben White is a must IMO, Danny Rose will be a bargain, but I fear he could upset the applecart with his Ego, and wage demands.

On the playoff final, I really want Fulham to win, purely because as many have already said, we will raid Brentfords good players! :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Bielsa will stay next season...... unless his list of demands are not met by the club. He did the same last year when he wanted changes to the training ground.

He'll be here when he is happy the club are doing the right things.

Good Morning to Matt Doc Rik WJ etc from a cold wet Bardsey
First of all its my 39 wedding anniversary today to the wonderfulMOE who has looked after me throughout
Be glad when these 2 youngsters sign and I for one don't want Rose he will be trouble and we can't afford to have that
White seems like Brighton are going to cash in on the work that Bielsa did remember he has not played in the Premier League so he could be a flop
Like Brentford to win as they deserve it more than Fulham
Now for my thoughts on China I think that they deliberately allowed this virus to escape in order to bring the democratic world to its knees and make them the dominant power and its worked so far
We must stop sending them 71m in aid and stop buying anything that is manufactured there and promote our own firms. We must show them they can't walk over us

Agree with you, his attitude is the problem and I don't think he'd fit in with Bielsa ball.<ok>
