So he said in his statement on Tuesday yet since then he has used every available media outlet to continue the war of words. Surely he's a man of his word.....
I'd have thought they were fairly obvious. Why state so categorically that you wont do something and then in the following days literally court every available opportunity to do just that? Right from the very start the Allams have handled this particular issue appallingly. Yes I will always be eternally greatful for what he did for City in the last year but that doesnt mean we have to whitewash over something else when it is so bad. It's like ignoring Hitler's attrocities cos he was quite a nice painter.
Personally I hope he builds us a nice new 30000 seater stadium just off the roundabout at Melton then sticks two fingers up at those thick parasitic councillors. The council can keep there nice new stadium even cleaner and less worn out when no ones going anymore!
Nice analogy to liken what Assem Allam has done the the actions of Adolf Hitler. You don't sound eternally grateful, in fact you sound like an ungrateful nob.
You seriously just compared Mr Allams business dealings with Hitler? Really? Wow. We need more fans like you. (That last bit was sarcasm btw).
I don't. I hope Adam somehow patches up the HUGE rift that Labour have opened up and we end up with what is MASSIVELY in the best interests of the people of Hull.
I'd guess it's a negotiating ploy. It's better than the 'Over My Dead Body' rubbish Terry Geriatric can come up with, surely?
Assem has not handled things as well as he could have, too much was done through the media, but that doesn't change the fact that the council should have bent over backwards(and taken up the arse if necessary), to make this development happen. I'm sure they'll start this conversation again with whoever is next in charge of the city council and all of their comments at the moment will be with the aim of making sure the current incumbents are ****ed off at the next election. Good luck to them.
Erm, no I didnt. Not in any way, shape or form. Explain to me where I did that? I quite clearly said that if you whitewash over something that is very, very bad just because they have done good in the past then that is like ignoring Hitler's attrocities cos he was quite a nice painter. At no point whatsoever did I like Allam to Hitler and I was quite clearly criticising the people who choose to ignore the bad because of previous good
Glad you weren't at the meeting; "over my dead body + references to Hitler", think that little get-together would have lasted three minutes. It is appalling that something so important to our City is being handled badly....by both sides in my opinion. Someone proves they have the club and city at heart (£40m cash slapped on the table straight up this year) and then we have the almost expected falling out because its.... Hull. Oh dear when will we learn to put just a little bit of politics aside for the advancement of the City
Anyway, we're well off topic of the point. My initial point was Mr Allam's very strange decision to completely contradict his own statement.
ad had he not spoken about when hassled by the media, people would moan at the silence. It's a non-issue.
