Sky Bet have Burnley priced at 4/1 to sign Pukki, second favourites behind Turkish side Besiktas who are being offered at 5/2 to be the striker's next destination. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/burnley-pukki-rumours-norwich-transfers-18701165
Both have the look of SW's scouting team deals. Zieler had 3 years in the ManUtd U23 squad from 2006-09 and a year at Leicester in 2016/17 in between Hannover stints. van der Hoorn has been at Swansea since 2016, with stints at Ajax and Utrecht before that. Good height and at 27, is in his prime. Both could fit the 'experienced players' label DF was speaking about.
Aston Oxborough is likely to go on loan to League 2 Salford. Would be a good loan for him, and makes it clear that we'd need a new GK. Apparently the Dennis Man deal isn't off, but Feyenoord are interested now too. Suspect once Becali realises that nobody will pay his ludicrous valuation, Norwich might come back to the table. That said, where does he fit in with Dowell now signed? Interesting to read from Farke that they expect perhaps only 1-2 of our U23 signings to really break through to the first team this season.
The two most likely would seem to be Akin Famewo (CB) and Jordan Thomas (RB), both of whom had cameos against Citeh.
Ah, clearly someone whose opinion has to be respected. I really should have known better than to actually give credit to Eddie Howe for anything.
Think it was a flippant comment aimed at Bournemouth's £5m pay-off to escape FFP punishment, Robbie. Howe did a good job at Bournemouth and I'd back him to do well at his next club when that happens.
I think Howe is a good manager, but not as good as the hype. I can see him doing well at his next club, provided they give him time. I don't see him being the type of manager that come into a club and has an instant impact.
The thing about hype is that those who are initially responsible for it are generally the first queuing up later to puncture it!
Ben Godfrey to Italy? Now there is a transfer that money can buy. Let’s see now, how about £25m or 27,500,000 euros (approx)? Strange that in a team that was so poor for most of the season, we have a number of players that seem to be in demand.
If he moved to Milan and broke into the first team , that would be one hell of an education. AC Milan historically pride themselves on a cultured defense and make it into an art form . Pretty sure Rio Ferdinand is involved with the agency that Godfrey is signed to .
They say seeing is believing. If this were to happen, I doubt I'll believe it even if I see it. (I just love the summer break and transfer window; the entire football world takes leave of its senses.)
EDP carries a report about one of our promising Academy youngsters, Ruben Shakpoke, being on the verge of moving to Villa "to further his development", having turned down a scholarship at Norwich. The report likens this to Benny Ashley-Seal's previous move to Wolves in similar circumstances. In both cases there may of course be reasons apart from developmental ones for moving elsewhere, but aren't we supposed to be among the best of the best in offering a genuine pathway to success in the professional game?
No; the EDP are just passing on what someone else has put out. It certainly fits Cromer's thread title though -- "tosh, goss 'n twaddle"
