Eddie Howe leaves Bournemouth, now is the time to strike if we’re looking at snatching a player. Board will be happy to cash in with no opposition from a manager and I’d imagine the fire sale will happen before a new guy is appointed

Heres a story to brighten up your weekend. Apparently Jamaica have contacted the club to ask if they can speak to Kalvin with a view of selecting him to play for the National team. The club have made the FA aware so if Southgate was thinking about Kalvin he needs to move.....

Eric there is supposed to be a Covid problem with transfer fees having to be reduced, yet in the Championship they all of a sudden think they have world class players

Norwich have told Leeds we can have Emiliano Buendia for £25m, stupid money

I’d rather take our chances with who we have and see how many teams are able to stay in business with zero gate money. Let the likes of Norwich and Bournemouth continue to pay big money wages and see where they are come December having had only the pittance Sky TV pays in the Championship

Norwich are in a great place as they didnt spend big for the prem and got what they deserved, but come down knowing they will get 50% prem money and the same again next season if they fail to go up. Norwich get circa £50m parachute payments for 2 years, whilst Bournemouth get £32m for 3 years due to rule changes. Norwich will be a wealthy club in the Championship this coming season

I know it's not very respectful but nobody showed any respect to us. A lot of clubs in the Championship are on their knees and will have to take what they can get or go under. Their but for the sake of Bielsa etc etc

Agree with this 100% everyone laughed at us :emoticon-0148-yes:

What make it worse is that the Championship must be the toughest league in the world to escape from. Last season everyone said Rotherham were unlucky to go down on 40 points look at the relegated club in the prem where you see points in the 20s and 30s earning relegation. 40 points was always seen as the first target for any club, but this season we had around 8 clubs scrapping to stay up and the bottom 3 went down on 45, 47 & 48 points just surviving were clubs on 49, 50 and a few more on 51. And for the anal statos amongst you there were 10 more points scored in the Championship than last season which must have all gone to relegation fighters, which also means the top clubs had more draws and losses aginst bottom clubs. Tough league

There are a few bargains to be had in the Championship. These aren't linked but are players who have stood out for me the last season or two who could step up and play at a better level. (Just my opinion).

Rhian Brewster (ok, he is Liverpool but they will loan him out again next year) has done wonders at Swansea since his loan in January. Could be a good stop gap for us if we don't get a striker we want. Would be a loan deal.

Jayden Bogle (Derby). Physically superb. He'd be a great right back if Bielsa got his hands on him.

Matty Cash (Forest). Been solid for a few years and I think his workrate would fit in anywhere on the right hand side.

Andre Ayew.(Swansea) Probably have to spend a bit and he is 30 now. Looks a handful and would suit our style. A much better version of Bamford.

Joe Bryan (Fulham) LB. Only 25. Great workrate. High quality both in defence and attack. Bielsaball ready fitness wise. Obviously only if Fulham stay down.

Max Lowe (Derby). Another young LB. Might cost a bit. Very athletic.

Kristian Pedersen (Birmingham).LB. Reads the game well, one of the top tackles and interceptions in the league. Is a tall lad who would help at set pieces too. Can play left wing too. Still only 25. A gamble but would be cheap.

John Swift CAM Reading. Available for around £5 million. Good creative midfield player. Linked with a move to the PL.

Luke Freeman (Sheff Utd). Tore us to bits a couple of seasons ago for QPR. Not had a look in at Sheff Utd. They'd probably want to recoup some money for him. Attacking midfielder.

Bradley Dack. (Blackburn). Impressed me for the last couple of seasons. Currently injured but that could make him cheaper. Creative #10. Blackburn would have made the play offs if he stayed fit.

Karlan Grant. Striker. Physical. (Huddersfield) Might take a bit of money to get him but again, might make the step up. Would be alot cheaper than Watkins and co. Local lad.

These are just some of the cheaper gambles on lads that could do the business at a higher level. Especially with Bielsa improving them!

I have a hope, naive possibly, but still a hope that Bielsa's style of football isn't typical Championship football and more akin to Premier football. OK we might need a few more to add depth but essentially our playing style will stand. It better do otherwise we have an issue.

Amazing when you think that 2 seasons ago nobody on this board would have said any Leeds player was capable of playing in the Premier League and now everyone saying we will be ok without any new players. Thats why Bielsa is the best coach in the world. Imagine how much our players are valued at now compared to 2 seasons ago

River Plate are in serious financial meltdown like Bournemouth and guess what since Bielsa was snooping around for their left back and Martinez-Quarto, so too are Man City

I hope you are right. My concern is that, although we have the right style for the Prem, (some of) our players are simply not physically fast enough. An example would be Ayling who, when out of position, might as well go get the post match pints in rather than try to get back, so unlikely is he to succeed.

My barber (hairdresser, but I don't want you thinking I'm a southern ponce like Ell) supports Arsenal but watches Brentford a lot because his in laws do. They played a cup game a while ago and he said he was stunned seeing the young Arsenal lads just burn Brentford off the pitch for sheer physical speed (not speed of thought or skill, just speed).

As long as that’s after Costa and Harrison loan deals it might not be too bad as long as we’re not held to ransom, biggest problem for us is the entire football world know we need a striker

Not quite the whole football world. Bamford thinks we have it well covered.

Have to agree with Eric nobody showed us any mercy when Risdale nearly ruined us. Apparently that Wigan lad we’re set to sign is worth a lot more than £1m but we’re paying it all up front so the receivers can pay player wages
