Skipp's certainly going to get some early season chances

Wouldn't be surprised if the Sess LB/Foyth RB pairing got a little bit more time to prove itself, too

A lot of assumption that Skippy will get a loan though as well in some circles.

A whole bunch of teams have been linked with him - Fulham and Forest off the top of my head - although it depends on the playoff final result. If Fulham win they're surely going to make a move, so as long as he's guaranteed starts we should listen. If they don't, that's where questions need to be asked

And after last season, I do hope we have clauses about minimum amount of minutes for our loanees, especially after Clarke and Georgiou had half a season wasted

I doubt it. It’d be a huge risk for the club loaning the players in. Players have to earn the chances, ultimately. Clarke might just be a dud tbh, with Georgiou I think he had an injury this year. Not sure what happened with the loan the first half of the season though.

Looks like I may have been wrong on this. Some on twitter saying it’s just three one off ties, not two legged. So we’ll only (potentially, so long as we don’t **** it) face three games instead of six.

Georgiou was nailed to Ipswich's bench for the most part of his loan before getting injured in December, because they were setting the pace early so didn't want to meddle with a winning team, which I honestly don't get. In the business end of the season I absolutely can, and only some knuckle-dragger who boos Harry Kane because the manager wouldn't pick him when their team was chasing promotion wouldn't understand this - but in the first half of the season it's an odd stance to take as there's 3/4 of the season to play

Felt like the end of the journey for him tbh. He’d done so well for them, be interesting to see where he ends up next.

Newcastle are overdue sacking a manager who did a good job the previous season

I knew this 24 hours ago. I’ve done some scouting work for Eddie over the past year or so and he is a genuinely lovely man.

I know he is distraught at taking them down and I believe he is still capable of being a top manager.
His reputation will take a hit, but I back him to bounce back from this.

Yeah same. Often felt he and Poch had quite similar paths at their clubs but just on a different scale.

Both tried playing an entertaining brand of football. Both punched above their weight for years, we got multiple top four finishes despite financially being inferior to the rest of the top six, Bournemouth on paper should've gone straight back down as their budget was miniscule so keeping them up for a number of years was no easy feat. Ultimately though both failed to get their teams to that 'next/ final step' and eventually went backwards, had hits and misses on the transfer front too, namely the players who cost a higher fee.

I hope Howe gets a decent offer, I think he's a manager with a good career ahead of him but needs be in that 'right fit' style of club.

I'd hope not, poisoned chalice that club. He'd **** his career going to them.

Not sure if he's someone willing to go abroad but a mid-table team in maybe Italy or possibly Spain could suit him, Holland too.

I thought Howe did wonders on his budget.Amazing he kept Bournemouth in the PL so long. I wonder what he would have achieved with Lampard's "money?"

I think 2 are needed. Kane will inevitably get injured. Parrott needs regular football but ideally you have 2 senior strikers and then 1 upcoming that gets minutes here and there.

That's what Etete will hopefully be. Just need to ensure we get that other striker in.

Just looked it up on UEFAs site three one off ties played behind closed doors first match will on 17th Sept, with next 2 scheduled for 24th Sept and 1st October, so not starting before the league season but we will need to hit the ground running.

Looked at the list of teams and their are potentially a lot of very long journeys if we get drawn away! Assuming thats how it works . However 3 Scottish, 1 Welsh and Couple of Irish sides are also possibilities.
