My point is if he forgot he booked him in the first half he could have been thinking after he gave the foul for the red that he was due a yellow for an accumulation of fouls.

In this case it would have got it right because it was either in or out of the area. Black or white.

And VAR should have overturned it but failed to. Which is factual.

Yes but the failure of the technology muddied the waters. You expect the technology to give the goal and by the time anyone realised it had missed it, play had restarted and it was too late to do anything.

And the PL have since said that if it ever happens again, VAR would over-rule. But it was a completely unprecedented situation. The VAR would have been sitting there, thinking that his eyes are telling him that the ball is over the line, but in the knowledge that the GLT - which is meant to give the correct answer - has said no goal.

Take a free hit at VAR on various things this season. It has effed up a lot. But I don't see that you can use this to have a go at VAR. I had enormous sympathy for the VAR.

If you say so. The whole world knew it was a goal within 15 seconds. Var failed to overturn.

    Fact.

They have one job to do. No sympathy at all for them.

Anyway, my point really is that it's evidence where it's got a factual decision wrong. The PL also said it should have overruled iirc.

Arsenal deserve the win despite some terrible dives. Poor red card decision killed the contest. So glad I am not a Chelsea fan their build up is so ponderous!

It was an unprecedented situation. The technology said no goal. There was no reason to believe at the time the technology would fail. Therefore you play on.

Bollocks, you trust your eyes in that situation. Otherwise there's no point in them being there. Technology fails all the time.

Unprecedented or not, the fact remains that it was a factual decision that var failed to overturn. Nothing else negates that.

But the exact same thing applies to GLT.

You say that the VAR only has one job. Well GLT literally only has one job. The VAR should never, ever need to over rule GLT, because GLT should never, ever be wrong. That theory has now been blown out of the water.

There are so many examples you could pick of VAR getting it wrong this season. Why constantly go back to this one?

Don't think it's ever been said that GLT ìs 100% accurate (high 90s iirc?) so don't think you can say it should never be wrong.

And yes, var only has one job to do. Watch the game and look for any major errors; as I say the whole world knew it was a goal within 15 seconds so what exactly were they doing, ironing their referee kit?

No one knew 100% it was a goal after 15 seconds. To overrule GDS, you have to be 110% sure it's failed. You would have to take several minutes getting the angle that removes any doubt.

The keeper crying was kinda sweet. Glad they won it, obviously means the world to them. Which is funny, and kinda worrying for the fans.
