    Agreed, hope Chelsea win.

Am I just a soft bastard or does Abide with Me make anyone else emotional regardless of who is in the final?

If you're going to back them at least use their full and proper name.

That didn't take long. 1-0 Chelsea.

That Pulisic is a cracking player. Shame he's a yank.

Slavic heritage no doubt. Does that soften the blow ?
    Great player.

Croat I assume. He deserves a better national side around him than USA though <laugh>

He can easily fill that hole Hazard left when he buggered off to Real. I think he's done a great job so far too, he's been Chelsea's best player whenever I've seen them.

His grandad was Croatian, but even he lived mainly in the States, so the Slavic connection is fairly distant.

Slavic names are quite common in the American Northeast, so it makes sense. I would imagine a combo of the great migrations and the Second World War does that.

Cracking finish by Pepe that even though it won't count.

Oh, and then some stupid defending and a penalty to Arse. 1-1

I thought the FIFA rules recognised grandparents' nationality as legitimacy for playing for nations other than a player's birthplace ?

The lad had a choice mind - easier to pick where you reside.

He has Croatian citizenship anyways, he got it while at Dortmund.

Both teams look ****e in defence, there should (on paper) be a few more goals in this.

Wright predicted 3-2 to Arsenal - as he would.

I like Wright. At least he doesn't try to hide his biases unlike a lot of pundits, wears his heart on his sleeve.

Despite playing for the US, he’s still managed to score 14 in 34 games and he’s only 21.

I think he's been involved in something like 70% of US goals in his last 20 caps. Madness for one player, that - though I imagine Kane and Sterling might not be far from that themselves.

It's a similar scenario to Mo Salah with Egypt, one superb player surrounded by mostly average ones.

Well, after all that, Pulisic has pulled his hammy.

Shame, best player on the pitch.

Pedro's not that bad a replacement, though.

If he keeps working hard he could become half the player Jozy Altidore was.
