This came yesterday so gonna fire her up later. Never used a gas bbq before tbh, i did originally want to build a brick one at the back of the garden but the mrs found that weber for a good price so it'll do for now. Got some garlic chilli chicken marinating since last night, king prawn skewers, gotta grab some sausages and baps, bit of salad, sauces and ****. Got a couple mates coming round for the FA Cup (one is a gooner, ones a chav so that should be fun then a birthday party round another friends place after that so I could be pretty messed up by about 7pm.
Cooks some belly pork/ **** sausages first and throw them away. You want to get fat on the coals to ‘season’ it. Best thing I ever did swapping to gas
Yer gas bbq should come with some craggy looking rocks the size of charcoal. The gas flames run through these giving a more even heat.
Nah no coals came with it. Erm so what I have to go buy coals? What's the feckin point in gas then lol?
Somehow I don't think you need coals for this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FDOONEC/?tag=not606-21
Been doing a bit of reading and you can lay some wood on the grill to get that smokey flavour so they say
I cant lie I wasn't keen on the idea of a gas one tbh, mainly cos I've never used one before and I don't see how you can get that charcoal taste without coals but I'll give it a go later and see what it's saying. Gonna try the wood trick I read about.
True but most people only cook burgers and sausages and they don’t need smoke just searing hot flame.
Seating hot flame for sausages? I put them on the side away from the heat and smoke them with the lid on.
