Cooks some belly pork/ **** sausages first and throw them away. You want to get fat on the coals to ‘season’ it. Best thing I ever did swapping to gas

Yer gas bbq should come with some craggy looking rocks the size of charcoal. The gas flames run through these giving a more even heat.

Been doing a bit of reading and you can lay some wood on the grill to get that smokey flavour so they say

Nice, sounds good. It's just an outdoor cooker if you're not getting a bit of smoke flavour.

I cant lie I wasn't keen on the idea of a gas one tbh, mainly cos I've never used one before and I don't see how you can get that charcoal taste without coals but I'll give it a go later and see what it's saying. Gonna try the wood trick I read about.

True but most people only cook burgers and sausages and they don’t need smoke just searing hot flame.

Seating hot flame for sausages? I put them on the side away from the heat and smoke them with the lid on.
