I agree, it's nonsense talk - there are too many people quick to jump on the bandwagon and put down players after one off day. No wonder some footballers take a dislike to fans even though "we pay for their wages" etc.

I was there and I didn't think Davis had a bad game. Goalkeepers will make errors and he may have been at fault for the 1st goal but apart from that, I don't remember too many errors. The one thing that annoys me the most is when people slate Davis for passing the ball out from the back. Possession is needed to start off moves playing the football that we want to play.

The whole team and management have exceeded everyone's expectations so far this season so deserve to have a little bit of faith put in them. I'm not saying that they are above criticism and everyone will have their favourite players, but picking the team is Nigel Adkin's job and I'm very happy about that.

Everyone has a opinion, everyone has players they don't like etc. Its that persons right to have that opinion, i still think davis was awful last nite in so many ways.
So yes he was f*cking sh*t.
Yes the team were to but you see it more with a keeper, yes davis has saved us some games i agree.

I still think we will be in for a new keeper end of the season, bart has spent to long on the bench and has hardly played. That hurts your developement in the end im afraid.

I admit i have never really liked davis tbh ever since he joined us, but that is my opinion other peoples are different.

New centre back and keeper is a priority, especially if Nige intends to keep building from the back.

Its not the fact he passes out , its the fact we do the same old thing. The lb and rb move out and up a little to draw the other teams players to them.
Then our center mid comes bk to get the ball passed to them.
This in turn makes our team always play it through the middle, which makes us have very little width which was seen last nite

Oh and it makes us predictable.

The only worry I've got following these two away games is the chances that we've missed. Unfortunately though, this is nothing. It was the same last season. I think it was around November time, that we calculated that our conversion rate (chances into goals) was roughly 1 in 7. Diabolical! And whilst this did undoubtably improve, we were still hardly perfect.

I said from the moment we got promoted that I wanted a CB and a striker in the transfer window. We got the CB, we didnt the striker.

Agree sfc94 although as I said above, for the 1st goal it really shouldn't have got to that situation if the other defenders had done their job's better. Totally agree about slating him for passing the ball out. He is obviously adhering to team instructions and generally Cork is the receiver of the pass. The other's are all aware of what is going to happen and should be ready to take a pass from Cork if he is closed down as he was last night.

That's why you single him out for criticism on a night when there were others who were more blameworthy. In my opinion.

They are probably knackered. Maybe rest Lallana on Saturday - Don't want him to pick up a silly injury due to fatigue.

I blame Radio Solent commentary. Anyone notice that they mentioned Kenny Miller hasn't set Wales alight only scoring one goal in 8 games. FFS just commentate don't give us statistics or say what we don't need to do.

made all of our own problems last night, but I'm still very proud of the lads, they have done amazingly so far.
So all you little snipers need to go have a cup of tea before criticizing them, because if this ain't good, you ought to follow Chelsea or someone.
    For real.

It is strange with Kelv. Great keeper but the distribution has never been a strong point, seems to hold on to the ball far too long to see opportunities. A couple of years ago, he punted every ball long upfield and a fair few went straight through to the other keeper. Then it was obvious that he had been given the strict instruction, play it out to Fonte. My main gripe is that there is no variation in approach. I have seen matched where he kicks it long, and I have seen matches where he passes it out short, but I have never seen a match where he has mixed it up. Always pass it out short, and the other team are just waiting to pressure the defender. Scary stuff!

Guys and girls.......anyone of you that has played any team sport at any level will know that during any game you will make a mistake. It does not matter if it is a professional or amateur sport it happens every game. Normally the mistake will not be seen. The difference is when you have 20000 pairs of eyes watching you can bet a dime to a dollar someone will notice. The sad thing is if the goalkeeper makes a mistake or an error of judgement. It is likely to lead to a goal, simply because of the position he plays. Now think how we judge a move or an action. We judge it after it has happened, so our judgement is based on hindsight. Football is all about making decisions from the management all the way down. In a split second you make a decision as a goalkeeper, you act on it, if you save a goal , you are a hero, if you miss you are an ass. That is exactly what we are talking about here......hindsight judgements. Whether you like or dislike a player whether you think he is good or average, out on the pitch it is a team, our team. We should be backing our managers decisions....if NA says he plays then he is the right man for the job........and to agitate some..........Simples..........:emoticon-0102-bigsm
