Looks like you've all been having fun again whilst the less fortunate are grafting, tonight Matthew I'm stupidly or very astutely (we'll see which way it goes ) am backing the last 4 of young Fallons at Wolverhampton

I've had a couple of winners but this is probably my worst meetings for a long while now. Not even got passed race 1 in the 4 days so far in the Placepot.

Wasn't in the stats page on ATR.

The stable has had four more losers added to the stats since I posted earlier and they are now 8/112 in the last fortnight. Perhaps that forecast paid for level stakes bets on the 104 losers.

Just something I though worth considering for those pondering a bet on Johnston at the beloved Goodwood.

Fine enough from Ventura Diamond. It was a bet based on a vulnerable looking favourite and a horse I felt was crying out for an extra furlong. In the end she certainly needed that 6th furlong and won in the style of a filly who might actually appreciate a step up to 7F. By Dandy Man, she may stay at 6F and I had a feeling that she might be aimed long term at something like the Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar and she is one of 156 entries for that race, which has a £56,000 pot for the winner.

Illykato has made a decent debut for Mick Channon and pipped Sarsparilla for second. Not a race to get carried away with moving forward but saved the day after Harvard being backed as if he was a cert and then disappointing.

I was going to play Prompting today, as the horse with potential, but I am trying to avoid the trap of favourites in these big handicaps but as ever up they pop. Prompting today and Blue Mist at Ascot last weekend. Nahaarr in the Stewards Cup tomorrow then?

Interesting. What would make it even more interesting would be to compare those with what was reasonably to be expected

I was on Prompting at 7/2. Only "bet" of the day. The only other bet at Goodwood was Space Blues at 9/4. Not usually this successful at Glorious Goodwood <cheers>

Quite agree. The sooner this is done the better. Look what happened in Australia last weekend - one jockey has several broken bones, one horse had to be put down and another suffered severe injury and all because a jockey decides that he wants to get to the front when it was blatantly obvious there was no gap. Authorities need to take action and if it means disqualification of a horse and banning a jockey for a significant length of time then so be it.

Don't believe I've just missed a Crisford runner, backed from 8/1 into 11/4 and wins. Doh

I won't be touching that race but Swindler ew looks interesting at 12/1. Not knocked about when beaten 3½l at Newmarket in fast time after a 272 days break. Previous run back in September he won with plenty in hand in a decent time at Ascot. He's had nearly 2 months since that pipe opener (hopefully to sort out his quirks). If anyone is thinking of backing him I would wait until they have left the stalls

I put Space Blues up as a horse to follow last season and after reading what Charlie Appleby had said regarding the Derby and that he was supplementing the colt for the race, I had a bet for Epsom. Pilloried for that advice, I soon got back into profit with the horse as he dropped in trip and he has been a good money spinner for me.

I have to smile when Chapman is getting all excited about the markets when they are down at the stalls. He obviously hasn't realised that with no rails bookies, the SP's are based around the online betting. And the close the books at race time. We have had quite a few "running late" and the odds don't move at all :)

There were some outsiders, one at 40/1 and some in double figures but there were plenty of fancied ones.

One of the most recent was tonked more than nine lengths in a 7F race as 4/6 favourite.

He started off with a winner in Maydanny but his last 29 runners at Glorious Goodwood have been beaten.

His runners tomorrow at Goodwood are:-

    1.50 One Hart
2.25 Themaxwecan, Hochfeld and King's Advice
    3.35 Meeras
    4.10 Homespin
    4.40 Golden Flame
    5.10 Streak Lightning and Overwrite

Some fancied ones in there and no doubt he will have a treble now that I have pointed out the poor run. I won't be on any of them and that is all the more reason why a few will win :emoticon-0102-bigsm
