His family are settled in Madrid. Picked up a La Liga winners medal for playing very little. Bleeding the Madrid wage bill for doing SFA, and (more amusingly) by staying put may be preventing them from being able to afford a new toy this summer to give to their ingrate supporters.
Wage demands are pretty much the only reason he hasn’t moved on, apart from the fiasco with the Chinese club last year where I think everything was agreed then Real blocked the move. Frankly given that, we’re likely well out of the running. And it’ll be interesting to see if his agent can even find a move he’d take, as football aside he seems very settled in Madrid with his family.
