Disappointed with Harvard there. He was pushed along a bit earlier than I had hope for but he did start coming there with a chance but he seemed to carry his head over towards a rival and then faltered a bit. He did start coming again but the race was over and the jockey dropped his hands and let him coast home in 4th.

It's frustrating because I feel greenness has probably done him in and he will probably come out and reverse form with those in front of him today. I would expect him to make big improvement from this run.

I wouldn't have put him up if he had been 10/11 last night and was caught by the worm of 5/2 on the hook last night. Sorry guys.

Agreed, i think he was disturbed and I think he'll turn them all over 9/10 times.

never was going to be overturned. The rules are wrong, they need changing before someone gets seriously injured.

Oh my, I'm getting giddy now, Prompting me to be relieved I left the KG alone and can enjoy Battaash thrashing the field without a care!

The 3.45 Goodwood is trappy looking for all that only 6 run.

I felt this was a good chance for Communique to get back on track. He is just about the best of these but had been in the wilderness for a while, however two seconds the last two starts promise more to come and it's a race he would have been short for at certain stages of his career.

He should go close today and I felt 3/1 was a fair price in a race where there should be few surprises really, given the profiles of those involved.

    3,45 Goodwood Communique 3/1

Great performace. I think Dayjur would have went sub 55 in those conditions though.
Hope Bataash goes and wins Nunthorpe and BC.

Ornate must win a 5f sprint on fast ground at some stage, if the handicapper would just give him a chance. What a race he has run today at 100/1 behind supersonic Battaash

If Ryan Moore had been a 'lesser profile' jockey or god forbid an apprentice he'd have got 10 days and the result would have been reversed...

Plus Dayjur would have been 1-10 against that lot.

Nah, not a going day for Communique at all. He sat in front, where I expected him to be but when challenged his effort was brief and totally ineffectual. Mark Johnston might love Goodwood winners but he won't get them like that. The horse has run miles below form today.

I've always felt Mark Johnston was a muck and nettles trainer who was hard to predict but he normally gets his share. Checking the stable form, Striding Edge at Ponty was his only winner from the last 20 runners and the 14 day stats are 8/108 runners and 7.41 % strike rate.

Mmm, wish I'd looked at that earlier.
