Watching the idiot giving his usual bumbling style of coronavirus update.
My son works in a casino, and was asked to work today, so that they could receive a substantial amount of cash, in readiness for the start up.
Johnson has just postponed casinos from opening for a further 2 weeks, so the chances are that my son’s employer will probably have to organise sending the money back to the bank at short notice.

I also don’t understand why shielding rules have ended. If, to quote Johnson “we cannot afford to ignore evidence of rising cases”, why is he putting pressure on known vulnerable people to return to their workplaces?

 

Is anyone still listening to the government? Seriously?

I suppose some people - business owners and the like - have to. Don’t think anyone else is are they?

You've hit the nail on the head I think. Only those that have to do, there rest of us just ignore them.

Unfortunately though, there aren't that many sensible people left in the world and i can see due to the confusion that abounds from the incompetent messages, we are doomed for a second wave.

 

The virus is only getting started. Worldwide there are more new cases and more daily deaths now Than at any point previously. Anyone who thinks this is over is monumentally deluded.

Good luck to you both . In fact good luck to all .I am currently waiting to go home from having had a bowl infection that landed .me in hospital . Opposite me is a man who , if anyone wants to see what alcohol can do to you , is at deaths door if he chooses not to go onto immediate dialysis. It scard the crap out of me !

 

I fully expect a second wave, but would have preferred our government to have got our first wave under far greater control than it has.
As far as I am aware other countries were not easing lockdown, when their daily death count was still regularly in three figures. We have opened society up in so many areas, without ever getting the death count down to a regular figure in the teens or fewer, so it’s continued growth was always likely.
To hear Johnson say that other countries in the EU are struggling to contain a second wave, when we still haven’t controlled our first wave, is just another act of distraction, from his own poor performance.
Are they struggling to contain the second wave, in other countries? Or are they acknowledging it’s resurgence, whilst using a working test, track and trace system, to suppress it ASAP?

 

Thank you. Mrs B is recovering slowly from the side effects, chiefly fatigue.
She has been fortunate as her treatment has not been impacted on by the coronavirus, but my heart goes out to those who have been diagnosed with life changing problems who have not been able to receive early treatment, which could make a big difference in how their recovery goes.

I hope you recover quickly from your health problem and get home soon.

There is also a poor soul who is sectioned. No beds at the hospital they want him in so he is in here . Clearly scitzophrenic. Breaks my heart. Anyone who douts the realness / Severity of mental illness needs to watch him for an hour or 2 .

Lovely to chat with one moment then I've last night he is threatening some one in one of the beds . Person/bed don't even exist . When we woke this morning there was pi$% where the bed was...and he was soaking wet with it a well
