LFC to rival Spurs for the signature of Damaio

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Sep 28, 2011.

  1. According to goal.com, who are quoted on the BBC gossip page to be saying this:-

"Liverpool may rival Tottenham for the signature of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao who is in rich goalscoring form for Internacional."

What are they going to do? Offer Carroll as part-exchange, with a top-up of £20 million in cash <laugh>

    Offer more wages than us?

It's Goal.com, so it's almost certainly made up, anyway.

I believe we have something along those lines. Can we really afford the transfer fee and wages though?

I think we could get him to accept a deal within our wage structure, I doubt he is paid that highly at Inter, having Sandro here and successful can only help....

I read somewhere that the top Spanish and Italian clubs are in for him. Either our "affiliation" with Internacional is a bloody strong one, or sadly, it's probably adios or arrivederci.

We don't have 1st refusal we just have an understanding with the club,as with Sandro, although this does put us in a good position to sign players from Internacional

  11. Yes, that was my initial thinking, too <laugh>

  12. Indeed, Ensil.

I think we are going to find that LFC are going to be linked with just about every player on the face of the planet, between now and when it becomes patently obvious to the LFC-biased press that they have absolutely no chance of qualifying for Europe (again).

The story is nothing but speculation posing as journalism - so no wonder the BBC are so keen to report it, as that's all they do these days...

I will be seriously pissed off if we lose out on Leandro to a rubbish club like Liverpool, Levy needs to be negotiating some sort or pre contract agreement asap.

A couple of weeks ago it was Barca we were battling with for his signature, so we've gone from looking like also-rans to front-runenrs by that logic.

Hasn't he just got injured?Would love to get him,but i think he's more likely to go to a european club.I think we might have more joy going for Negredo,GDS+cash would be a good idea as Sevilla wanted GDS and he wanted to join them.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sevilla offered a paltry 3m, thats why he didn't and won't be going there unless they get real. An Italian club offered 10m, but he didn't want Serie A. <ok>

    It was Udinese, Notso.
They supposedly offered £10m+£3m in add-ons, whereas Sevilla offered £3m rising to £6m or something.

If he was that desperate to go, then he should've got to Italy.
