Look on the bright side chaps. We can plead the poverty line and maybe just maybe the tabloids and fans will feel sorry for us. ****ing hell imagine what Bruce and Ashley are thinking right now. Bruce is going to front a bigger **** storm than anyone has ever seen. You know what. That phone call was probably Ashley saying yo Bruce are you up for it because this is going to get ****ing nasty.
taken from the Times Rival clubs accused of undermining Newcastle takeover as Saudis pull plug The Saudi-backed bid to buy Newcastle United was today withdrawn, with Amanda Staveley, the businesswoman at the centre of it, blaming the decision on opposition from rival clubs and the Premier League delaying approval. Staveley was in tears as she spoke about the consortium’s decision today to withdraw the £300 million offer to Newcastle’s owner, Mike Ashley. She also criticised the Premier League for not approving the takeover — it has been more than four months since the process began but the league has still not given any indication of when it would make a decision.
hope something gets sorted for you guys - the Toon Army deserve some luck as you have had to put up with that utter **** Ashley for too long
Why would they not try and block it. It affects them if we had the money. In fact this could in fact open a whole new can of worms. Ashley surely won’t lie down on this. Let’s just say we continue under Ashley and we get relegated. His asset value halved instantly. Who is he going to blame? Then if we can’t get back up again he’s lost it forever.
Keith Downie @SkySports_Keith PIF/PCP felt it would never be ratified by the PL and have pulled the plug as a result. They’re not happy with the Premier League and their dealings from the start ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Martyn Ziegler @martynziegler · Staveley tells me consortium had answered all Premier League's questions but could still not secure approval. Sources say Liverpool + Spurs among clubs opposing the takeover. .
So she confirms it was nothing to do with commercial viability after all it was just about them refusing to clarify ownership. Her claiming they had answered the question is obvious BS. If you're acting in good faith and someone asks for clarification you answer the question as many times as is necessary not just run away.

I can believe this but at the same time how is that fair. “Erm is it ok if we allow Nufc takeover chaps it would be good for the league!” “**** no that makes it even harder for us to compete and make more money, we may even miss out on the champions league. You have to stop it.” “But we have no legal grounds to do so how can we?” “Just delay it indefinitely you don’t say you have a timeframe!” “Good idea!”
