Because we hadn't been relegated then and most thought that going and shouting abuse at the manager and team probably wasn't all that helpful.
All depends whether or not you want to 'talk with your feet' or shuffle them into a more comfortable position under a computer desk...
We'd just lost 8-0, you don't think a load of City fans weren't going to give the payers and manager some grief? They wouldn't let let them leave the ground, they were chanting 'Allam Out, McCann Out' and singing Steve Bruce songs.
Yes,and I'm fairly sure(covid19 aside, hence no bums on seats),they'd have been booed off the pitch after some of those abject performances!!
No it doesn't. It depends whether you want an effective campaign. There's a range of ways of achieving that - on the ground action is one, for sure, but online is definitely another very powerful tool.
I'm not trying to make a 'cheap point'? It's our opinion and obviously we differ, that doesn't make either of us a fool.
How about everyone wearing face masks. Should stand out and get on the news....yours Phil the recluse..
Depends what the protest is about I suppose Was the motorcycle one about the army kid been prosecuted?
Nah 1992 (may have been 1990 or 1988) they were every two years protesting general anti EU driven legislation. Noise limiting regulations, power limits, type approval, compulsory hiViz stuff and the likes. Went to Brussels, the EU buildings were guarded by riot police and the convoy of bikes where escorted past by the police at about 80mph. Went to Paris everything was running smooth until the radical Frenchies at the front of the convey just stopped. Blocked the city center for hours, bikers just left the bikes in the road and went off for a cafe au lait or pastis, our little group were by a fountain which quickly turned into a paddling pool. Got to admire the French for their protesting abilities and more importantly the police for letting them do it.
Well I'm glad I'm not alone in demanding noisier motorbikes. Not all heroes wear capes, as Balkan has demonstrated.
Fit and proper person my arse! For any of you legal guys out there 'working from home' have a gander at this when you get back from the golf club. Are this club's owners sticking to the rules? I guess they must be but it's worth a look. I lost interest when I couldn't find a 'milking it' section. https://www.lawinsport.com/topics/item/a-guide-to-the-owners-and-directors-test-in-english-football https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/
We weren't demanding noisier motorbikes, just that rather than imposing further reductions in the maximum level, the current satisfactory levels were enforced. At that time as it is today standard factory produced motorcycles are not excessively noisy, any noisy motorcycle you hear today is already breaking the law and imposing new lower limits on new motorcycles sold will not change that.
The proposed takeover of Newcastle United by a Saudi-backed investment fund has been called off. The group said in a statement: "With a deep appreciation for the Newcastle community and the significance of its football club, we have come to the decision to withdraw our interest in acquiring Newcastle United Football Club. "We do so with regret, as we were excited and fully committed to invest in the great city of Newcastle and believe we could have returned the club to the position of its history, tradition and fans' merit. "Ultimately, during the unforeseeably prolonged process, the commercial agreement between the Investment Group and the club's owners expired and our investment thesis could not be sustained, particularly with no clarity as to the circumstances under which the next season will start and the new norms that will arise for matches, training and other activities."
Probably found out they're just leaseholders at SJP. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily necessarily mine.
