I would have thought someone like Norwich would have him on loan again, at least he would start there.
Or even sold. I think he may come good due to his age, but the money we could get for him would probably be better spent elsewhere. In an ideal world we would sell Forster but he clearly wants to see out his very generous contract before moving on.
Forster is going to come back and ram the words of his critics down their throats. Season 20/21 top scorer. You heard it here first.
Problem is he hasn’t played lately, his stock would be low, best to loan him get some form back and raise his stock.
If FF does come back then best to loan Angus out to keep him playing ready to return to Saints for when FF does go... not to raise his stock. If he does well and keeps improving, he is young enough to be our main keeper in the medium term.
Well yeah but if he doesn’t show the improvement we hope then at least by playing regularly he will hopefully do enough to get him a decent move
I reckon Gunn will come good and end up as a high quality Keeper. I saw a fair bit of him at Norwich and he has all the attributes you want from a modern goalie. Think he suffered from us having a very unsettled and ineffective defence in the first half of the season. Send him out on loan, get his confidence up and with any luck he could end up our number one for a good many years.
It’s a sign of how scattered our signings have been that we have three totally different goalkeepers. We have Gunn who is better with feet and off the line, McCarthy who is the best shot stopper and a 6’7” elephant in the room which nobody knows what to do with.
A defence is a generous term for those round pegs in square holes. More power to Ralph H for finding horses for courses. I do hate these bloody cliches, my sick parrot has expired! please log in to view this image
Talking about whether things happened. Prior to the re-start, there was talk of Norwich playing behind closed doors, to ritualistically "lose" 0-9 in an bid to radically improve their chances of staying up. Unfortunately for them, you cant fake the bizarre magick of football.
