IMO you could build a case against Mike Riley for his refusal to follow IFAB guidelines on VAR, including the fact that he initially banned referees from using pitch-side monitors until he was forced to fall in line.
I would have preferred Villa to go down instead of Bournemouth, not least because of Villa's 'cancel the season' cowardly stance but honestly, there's no case to answer. The fact that the team involved in the game did nothing and a team not involved in the game are looking for another team's game outcome to bail them out is telling when they had a whole season that they were in control of to decide their own destiny.
Always said I'd rather win ****all and vee entertained. Fortunately the two aren't separate entities amd we currently enjoy both
I think we should have a European referee exchange programme. They could set up one of those events were they pick names out of two containers. The first name is the country in question, the second name is which country's referees officiate in the league of the country in question. So out comes England from the first container and then Germany from the second, so we have German officials for all PL games for the whole season. I think it would work a treat. Now which country would you like our referees sent to for a season? I choose North Macedonia.
Referees just turn a blind eye to fouls on Salah now so I wouldn't have been surprised to see the stats showing him not being fouled at all. because these fouls are only the recorded ones.
I think they should randomly change United's refs just before the game in future, just like they switched the jury before Al Capones trial.
Aubameyang : "I don't usually talk on behalf of anyone, but I see a need to stand for Sadio Mane who deserves at least a reward for his great season. I must say it is very disappointing to witness him walking away empty handed. I don't know what criteria they use to award the Awards, but I believe am not the only one who feels Mane should have won an individual Award in Premier league this season. When you look at Liverpool victories, Mane was a driving force behind that. Am not bias or something, but it is the facts.” The lads got a point imo
Makes goals won 18 points this season... we won the league by 18 points. Didn’t score as many goals as Salah but his goals were often the more important. Often won ya games when we were struggling with a goal or assist. Def our best player this season
I think Hendersons actions during the lockdown have a huge effect on his accolades. To get all the captains of each team together and sort something out takes some doing, the fact he was doing it quietly without a fuss speaks volumes for the lad.
Without Mane, we don't win the league. Trouble is, that same argument can be put forward for VVD, Trent, Robbo, Salah, Bobby and Hendo too!
The FWA award often gets influenced by the "character" of the player ,Rashford came 3rd , though not always considering Suarez won it Think they also quite liked the fact they were giving it to someone who was "written off" by many ,including loads of our own fans , as it made a good story . .
yeah no doubt that more than just footballing performances go into it otherwise rashford would be no where near e top of that list. Also I imagine a few like to think they are being clever by going for random players like Jonny Evans and AWB who both got more votes than mane and Salah
