That was City's problem when the Arabs first took over - after a while they realised they needed a more holistic approach to be successful.
Even now their defence is the weakest area.
Tbf, even we had a policy of just outscoring the opposition for quite a while.

nothing will happen. You aren’t relegated based on 1 mistake in whole season.

im sure there is probably a wrong decision that went for Bournemouth at some point as well.

Yep, it's ridiculous and they'll be laughed at if they pursue it.

In fairness that was a bad mistake but they won't get anywhere with making a claim.

If they do and win it then it may be a good time for us to make a claim for Mané's disallowed goal vs Arsenal last season that would have won us the league. :)

I dunno, there are poor referee decisions and then there is a ball behind the line which the technology missed. Its clear cut

They won’t pursue it imo, as VAR was in operation for that game, and could and should have reviewed that incident, as it was both clear and obvious. The reason they didn’t only they can answer, but the replays, shown within seconds on the TV, clearly showed the goal line tech had failed.

I’d be amazed if the contract Hawkeye have with the PL doesn’t have clauses which specifically exclude any fiscal responsibility for unforeseen system errors. Also their contract is with the PL not Bournemouth, so they’d have to sue the PL not Hawkeye.

I get they feel aggrieved, but they’re pissing in the wind here.

Yeah that’s a perfect comparison and it’s obvs PL bias and wouldn’t have happened if you’d have beaten Atletico.

They have a solid argument in that the referee explicitly pointed to his watch as the reason why he wouldn't consider awarding a goal and why VAR would not be checked.

PGMOL added: “Under the IFAB protocol, the VAR is able to check goal situations, however due to the fact that the on-field match officials did not receive a signal, and the unique nature of that, the VAR did not intervene.”

    They really don’t.

That merely highlights a common sense failure btw, as a blind man on a fast horse could see that ball was clearly in the net on the replay that was on screen within seconds.

It’s irrelevant to the legal point anyway, as who are they suing? on what grounds? and for what amount?

I don't know who tweeted that but it's nice to see a sense of humour when so many on Twitter are seemingly outraged by everything.

I dont mind them getting an extra break. We always look **** after a prolonged break, be it a winter break or this lockdown break. Always slow to get going.

We have barely got going now and its straight to a long break. I would rather be in Europe of course, but for some teams to go on a run and get further fitness and sharpness, I think gives you an advantage going into the new season.

More concerned about the fact that england have a pointless game 1 week before the season starts.

Sports lawyers don't think there's any credible case to put forward and as has already been mentioned, who would you bring the case against? CAS may look at it but I don't think they can award compensation, if it's money that they are looking to get because they certainly can't have a game outcome reversed.
