Mumba announced. Sounds like he's being considered as a RB cover, even if he has a history at DM too.

So that's 3 RBs in the squad now? On the day Bayern Munich interest in Aarons is rumoured...

    This is interesting:

Compares Placheta to Marko Arnautovic, a somewhat unusual type of winger.

Aarons to Bayern Munich? I wonder how strong this rumour is? Newsnow website. £20m should see him go if there is any truth in the rumour

I assume his shirt will have 'Mumba number 5' on the back?

I wonder if the background on his media release on Twitter is a clue to next season's kit design. They gave us a couple of sneak teasers in the same way before our previous season's kit launch. Perhaps a nod to the Asics striped shoulder shirt. Geez i'm bored!

From this season when we had two DMs and Trybull as a CM/DM, IMO, DF now has this choice:

    Tettey (34)
    Sørensen (22)
    Thompson (25)
    Sitti (20)
    Guilmour (21)
    Mumba (19)

Lots of young options (though Thompson is now 25), but are any of them ready to replace Tettey? In fairness, the club says that Mumba will initially be an option at RB. Presumably Aarons will be his mentor! <laugh>

£18m Aarons to Bayern M latest rumour.
Cantwell valued at £30m Newcastle and Spurs showing interest. Pukki to Turkey but the money may not be good enough. Is Pukki going to recapture his Championship and early season PL form again? I think I have lost track of all the newcomers so would be grateful for an update

    Soto is now confirmed:

    https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2020/july/sebastian-soto-joins-norwich-city/

In addition to the 3 DM's listed above, we've now got:

    Sinani WL
    McCallum LB
    Placheta WL/WR/LB
    Soto S

That makes 7 new players. Josh Martin (WL/WR) and Adam Idah have now broken into the first team, as have Famewo (CB) and Thompson (RB), who made debut cameos against Citeh. Daniel Adshead (CM) was on the bench, so could be another prospect.

I still want someone like carter-vickers, but we are probably just about done for signings. Maybe some defence coaches for set pieces hahah

I agree about a loan deal for Carter-Vickers with a possible permanent deal in a year's time if it goes well. I then depends on who leaves.

As you say, Mumba being considered as a full back, and I can't see Thompson staying, surely?

No idea how Sitti fits in, Sorensen seems like he might be likely to be competition for Trybull. Perhaps played as the only DM in "easy" games, and alongside Tettey or Trybull in tougher ones. Gilmour I think is more that kind of creative fulcrum rather than tough-tackling DM. He's young but doesn't look to have the physicality of Sorensen, Sitti or Tettey.

Soto is already training with Telstar in the Netherlands ahead of a loan move I believe. We can't get him a work permit until he's appeared for the USA Senior team (which was about to happen before lockdown), so he won't play any part in our senior team until that box is ticked.

Matthew Dennis announced now too. Michael Bailey expects him to join the U23s rather than being involved in the first team.

Dennis, Soto and Mumba have been almost "open secrets" in the last fortnight. So it'll be interesting to see what else is in the pipeline.

My hope is that Sørensen is a DM who can also play and pass creatively. He scored goals in Denmark, but was this as a DM or CM? Transfermarkt lists him mainly as a DM who can also play as a CM or RB. Our central midfield has had to hold back too much rather than being able to push forward to score goals or create chances. Hopefully he can make a difference.

Thompson, Guilmour and Sitti could have a chance to make their mark in the abbreviated pre-season, but it's hard to read DF's intentions at this stage. Any players leaving will also have an impact on this.

Seven in and how many out? Are these players in addition to or instead of? With all these RBs do we take it that Aarons will be sold and are SW/DF confident it will be the right price (whatever this is)?

Personally,I think Aarons is worth less today, than he was 12 months ago.
Last year you were buying potential, and I believe that this season has shown his short comings, especially when defending.
    Would take £10m
