It will be full when the bin man takes over...... the bin that is....... as he'll be busy fleecing the Mackems...
It'll be interesting to see this all play out. From what I've seen Mauriss is a nobody and his company turnover is around $6m a year. Our current owner has companies turning over £3bn and we've got a transfer budget of £35m. A change of ownership to Mauriss means our new budget will be £50. Going to be interesting to see what happens in the media, too. Luke Edwards seems adamant Mauriss is viable. He's also had quite a fixed anti-NUFC agenda. Either way I maintain we're not going to see a happily ever after in this one. Never does go that way with Newcastle. Even SJH turned out to be a selfish snake.
It's a shame what's happened to Luke Edwards. He used to be balanced but now he seems to me to have an axe to grind.
He will be aware the club makes millions a year.. Just some chancer that will absorb the profits, take money from the club, rinse it dry and then do one
I'm still 99% certain Mauriss doesn't exist, and quite possibly never did. There's no images of him or press about him. Even "reclusive" Mike Ashley had countless articles. So what I can gather is the PL are working out who has final say and the response from this consortium isn't clear, or more to the point the consortium are avoiding saying "MBS does". Seems pretty obvious that the PL wants to be told MBS has "final say", so they can fail it on a bunch of piracy and criminal grounds. I think that makes sense. Fenway Sports Group, for example, is a private fund and at the top are a couple of Americans, who do indeed have final say. Pretty clear. PIF would need to set up an entirely separate entity that then buys the club - KSA Sports Investments, for example - with someone who ISN'T bin Salman at the head of that organisation. Whether they (PIF) would be willing to divest in that way remains to be seen - but to be honest, that's a pretty obvious and simple thing to comply with, it's strange that the buyers' legal team haven't worked that out? Man City doesn't muddy the water either. Unfortunately. Even though UAE has similar human rights issues, it has never had piracy levelled at its' state, nor have they killed a journalist (that we know of). UAE aren't allies of Qatar, but Saudi's the big brother in the region and they/Qatar are the ones always quarrelling, hence all the issues.
If Mauriss cannot be identified, good luck with any takeover attempt. Lack of clarity form PIF? Mauriss is probably a dodgy PO Box address in Doha.
