I'm sick of it now like just another episode of loony toons special let's all laugh at Newcastle during lockdown. I'm withdrawing from this a football completely .. what will be will ... and it won't be good
Looks like I might be jacking it in even sooner. Superb. Why would anyone, especially a Toon fan, ever ****ing bother following football ever again.
If true, wouldn’t that have been one of the first things that the Group would have decided? The MD of PIF I would have thought. Not a member of the Saudi Government or the Royal Family. Boom. Where’s the golden ticket?
@PJS - BACK AND BOSSING IT it seems like it might be an irrelevant dispute right now.... Nobody knows wtf is going on
To be clear, the "Premier League" as an entity is effectively the sales & marketing representation of all 20 member clubs. It's nothing more than this. Its sole purpose is to make money from advertising and broadcasting rights. It should have no ****ing say whatsoever in the suitability of an owner because of a lack of clarity as to who makes decisions at a club. That doesn't make one lick of difference to whether an entity can 'afford' a club and be able to run it. Besides which, the very thought that Staveley hasn't taken this into consideration with their legal team is beyond all comprehension. The point is clear as it has been for months - the PL, or rather, Big 6 have no interest in being further gatecrashed. The brave challenge from Leicester & Wolves has been seen off (it's now down to Arsenal/Spurs to push them further down the table and restore all order). The horrid abnormality of Leicesters title win is well and truly in the past. The PL have reset the league to the delight of the biggest clubs and there is no desire whatsoever to allow Saudi-backed Newcastle a seat at the table. The largest clubs being successful is what the PL believe is needed - Man City were an unfortunate late addition, but they won't make that mistake again. There is not, has not and never will be a mega money takeover of another PL club. The PL have actively sought ways to keep the Saudi's out and it feels very much like it has been excuse after excuse after excuse. "Gridlocked" is extremely convenient, because it means the PL don't get sued, Ashley gets frustrated and another buyer is sought who doesn't threaten the established order. If only Henry Mauriss actually existed, it would make life easy for all concerned. In the meantime, the PL will continue to obfuscate the situation with impossible demands, delaying and delaying but never actually refusing. I don't think it's a coincidence they are "looking for a commercial lawyer". Are they really? Or is it another delay tactic, another smokescreen? The one and only - but never to be proven - issue is the big clubs do not want or need this move. There is enough money floating around to not need Saudi input. This takeover, the PIF backed takeover, will never pass.
Legally, the PL have had nothing for two months. Yet here we are. Obfuscation continues as "no decision" can't be sued or challenged. "Failed" invites challenge, "passed" isn't an option because of the influence of Chelsea, Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.
On a side note does anyone know why mitro is not included in Fulham’s team today. Was looking forward to watching him get sent off.
