Exactly. Who didn't have a bad day yesterday! Listening on the radio, of the XI that started, it sounded like only Richardson had a good game, whilst Morgan had an alright one. But that sounded about it.

From listening last night it sounded as though Richardson had a good game. By the sounds if it Fox was cr@p...

Didn't even hear Lambert or Cork's names mentioned...

Kelv wasn't at his best, but he wasn't the only one that had a bad game. Luckily it's very rare that he doesn't put in a good performance so I have no concerns over last night. No doubt, he'll be more dissapointed than anybody else. He's always been kept on his toes with Bart waiting in the wings - a lot of the squad will be on their toes aswell because competition for places is tough this season.

Everyone that had a bad game will be eager to put things right against Watford, Kelv included.

Our midfield was terrible only changed when chaplow and de ridder came on. Richardson played ok but least he was trying, he nearly cleared the ball of the line again for one of their goals.

kelvin's mistakes cost goals. Dont say everyone makes mistakes as he doesnt have to concentrate for the whole game where as all other players do.

And his saves prevent goals! No-one i saying that he's Cech or Van Der Sar. But I'm happy with him.

Goalkeepers do need to concentrate for whole games and their mistakes are always well noticed (more than outfield players) because they nearly always lead to conceding goals. It's not fair to single out Kelv for criticism as many players had equally bad games.

Still think next season we will need a new younger keeper.

for the first goal he came rushing off his line and made it so easy for miller to head it over him ! he should have stayed and let jose sort it out and then pick up the pieces or save a shot

We all know Bart is waiting in the wings for that chance, however he might get tired of having a lack of opportunities before too long. The thing is; Kelv has masses of experience and as club captain he is a vital cog in the Saints machine. It's not just what he contributes on the field but off it aswell. His influence and leadership within the squad is valuable and his relationship with Adkins is excellent as Nige himself is a former goalkeeper.

I cannot see any change of goalkeeper (injury dependant) anytime soon for these reasons.

kelv wasnt great yesterday, our midfield was non existant. i felt sorry for fox out on the left wing on his own, he had no support from lallana whatsoever, adam looked knackered. rickie wasnt his normal self, shoulda buried 2 headers.

It seems when someone doesn't like a player, he is responsible for everything bad that happens. In what way was he at fault for last night's (or the one at Burnley) poor performance? The first goal was from a hopeful punt downfield as a clearance from our corner. We had two defenders back marking Miller, neither of them dealt with it (I thought it was Schneiderlin and Fox but maybe wrong). The result was Miller got clear of the two defenders leaving Davis to either block a one on one or rush off his line. He chose the latter and Miller beat him to it, it wasn't all down to Davis, the defenders should have been stronger. The second goal came as a direct result of a mistake from Hooiveld, who up to that point had been excellent. No blame whatsoever to Davis for that.

Instead of making KD the scapegoat for last night maybe you should look at other areas; 1. Our outfield players contiually passing to the opposition. 2. Our defense which at times looks very suspect, but we have in most games been able to score more than we concede 3. Missing absolute sitters which we did not only last night but at Burnley as well. The culprits for those glaring misses in the last two games have been Lallana , Lambert and Schneiderlin all very popular players, so it's no surprise we haven't seen a similar article about them.
