No more than any of the other points we dropped. More telling was the City game where Mané hit the post and it rolled out, and Sané hit the post and it went in. Such fine margins... Anyways, 82 would have won the title this year and in 17/18. It's only last time that 2 teams got high 90's so I agree it's too early to say this is a new norm.
When we gave Manchester City a scare in 2019/2020 we were more than 20 points behind them in 2018/2019.Chelsea,Manchester United are going to be serious challengers in 2020/2021 as Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have something to prove.
I think Chelsea will come on strong, they've already assembled what looks like a very good attack, if they can strengthen the defence they coukd be a good team. I think alot will ride on how good Frank and ole are at actually managing. Jury is still out on Lampard, ole looks lost at times though, regardless of who he buys, I dont think its in him.
You missed the tongue in cheek, fighting fire with fire element of my post there I think mate. And yes, precisely.
Good game to end the season on. Although well taken, it was never a free kick in a million years that got them the opener. Impressive performance again from Keita and glimpses of what Minamino can bring to the table - some superb touches and turning his man from him. Great goals from Origi, Virgil and Mané. Thank you Jurgen and thank you to the whole team for the fantastic ride this season's been. A good couple of weeks off now and the lads come back even more 'greedy'. This has been a remarkable season and arguably will go down as the most unforgettable title win for some very good reasons and some not so good. Condolences to all who lost their lives and all those who faced and are still facing consequences of the pandemic.
TBF it's difficult for the players to care about other games when the fans don't give a **** about other games either
We are not drawing many games again especially at home, so I am confident we ca accumulate 94+ points. next season. Not many many in the premiership would match that.
I agree. Perhaps I'm not explaining myself properly. I'm saying that you only need high 90's to win if second is pushing you that far. It was a discussion about whether or not it's the new norm for PL winners and I think it's too early to tell. Only last season was it necessary for the winners to have that total. City have done it twice and we've done it twice (once without even winning the bloody thing). I think Chavs made 93 a few years back, but other than that high 80's wins it. We'll have to see whether or not anyone can keep churning out these mammoth totals, because other teams have a habit of sussing you out after a while. Personally I don't want to see the competition become a one-or two horse race too often. I'd rather see a more competitive league. With us winning it, of course.
