Having a pair of goalscoring strikers in form could be exciting next season, we haven't had that for a while.
There was an Italian chap with a natty hair cut who played with a live wire Senegalese. Do they qualify?
Just the one! The other was a selfish, greedy, non-committed, charlatan whose only desire was to move on from Southampton as soon as was practical! ........ I'll keep his name a closely guarded secret though
Even now we still have a lot to learn. Sheffield United could have been out of sight, before we turned up, yesterday, as we really struggled with their organisation and 3-5-2 formation. Yet in the second half we were much better and caused them several problems. Ralph has shown that he can turn poor first half performances into good second half performances, but the next stage, for me, is improving the performance during open play. This comes across as a criticism, of Ralph/the team, but I don’t mean it that way. It’s just an observation.
Well guys my Jinx really has bitten the dust.....for a change I was determined I was going to watch the game all the way through. The first half was a little frightening. But once they had learned to break the wall down you could see there was only going to be one winner. KWP looked the part in particularlar, McCarthy is a world class goalkeeper on yesterdays showing. Vesty needs a good kick in the pants. Bertrand played ok but needs to get back quicker. All in all good all round display nice way to end the season....Well done the lads..............
After the near calamity of the past two seasons, and the wobbly start this time, the turn around has been brilliant. SFC look like a decent PL side again. Having said this, SFC are an established PL club so getting to 52 points should be the norm for a club with this level of experience in the top division. So well done to all on a magnificent improvement. When do we think the recovery set in? After the home wins against Norwich and Watford perhaps, which gave the side momentum?
Anyone worthwhile pursuing from the relegated clubs that would add class to the present SFC side? Doucourre, Sarr, Brooks, Cantwell?
For me, it felt like the turnaround was Pompey away. I remember going into that, a little bit scared that our form was so bad, and Pompey could out-muscle us/route one their way to a win. That game, showed how much the players truly cared. Ings and JWP were possessed that night, and since then we haven't looked back
I think the 9-0 was the turning point personally. Mental that we picked up more points than them after that.
