In matches between Wolves and Newcastle the home side are unbeaten in last 28 top flight meetings, winning 19. The last away win came when Wolves won 4-3 at St James' Park in February 1959. Newcastle's last top division win at Wolves was 3-1 in September 1958.

So, the best we can hope for is a draw right?

On a serious note, we stopped Blackburn's winning run against us at home, so maybe it's our season to start beating records :)

These stats are there to be broken and make the commentators who spout them look stupid

We'll either thrash them or be thrashed, could go either way in my opinion.

I dont put too much emphasis on on stats, when you've got a new manager and a new team...

All im lookign at is that were on a high, with people returning from injuries and they started well, but have been on a downer recently.

Im still thinking a 1-1 will be the score although part of me thinks a win is more than possible. I cant see us losing this one mind.

Aye, the Blackburn game looked bleak according to stats as well. I think our front 2 are strong enough to put the Wolves back 4 under serious pressure and we're dangerous from set plays (regardless of opposition size). Then failing that, we have enough flair and pace on the bench to change tack and go for some proper attacking football - Toon win 2:1!

    Can't see them winning, so it'll be 1-1, 1-0 or 2-0.

Stats like that are for commentators to use when the game is boring, and for Lawro to fill his prediction justification for cos he knows nowt about any of the team in the prem.

Do we want Benny playing? I fear Calvin Henry might do his usual loutish thing and target him! Irrespective, I fancy a decent win

That is potentially worse..... All it takes is a pre meditated lunge and BANG! That is that! Maybe I am being silly and wrapping him in cotton wool.

Thankfully stats mean feck all. All hoodoos are there to be broken and its really about what happens on the day. I believe our players will be buoyant and hopefully in the mood to give Wolves a torrid time. I respect them and they are very good at home normally, I'd take a draw as I predicted on Chappaz thread the other day. The closer it gets though the more belief I have we might have a bit much in terms of technical ability for them.

I too think that Pardew will keep the same starting line up. I will be happy with a draw.

I'm going for a 2 - 0 win to us. QPR went there and won, so i'm sure we can, no doubt it will be a difficult and hard-fought game, but i think Cabaye and Tiote's dominance in central midfield will be too much for Wolves.

The unbeaten run continues 4 wins 3 draws. HWTL!!

    If your going for Stats:
Newcastle are looking to achieve their longest Premier League unbeaten run in over 14 years when they travel to Molineux on Saturday...

Wolves have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League home matches.

Three of the four Premier League meetings between Newcastle and Wolves have ended 1-1 with the other finishing 4-1 to the Magpies.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored in both meetings with Newcastle United last season.

Newcastle are unbeaten in their last four Premier League away matches, drawing three of the four games.

Newcastle are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League games, though they have won only four of those.

The last time Newcastle went 10 games unbeaten in the top flight was August 1997.

Newcastle have the best defensive record in the top flight with just three goals conceded so far this season and just 18 shots on target allowed to opponents.

Newcastle have been forced into five clearances off the line by defenders; more than any other team in the Premier League.

I think those sway it more in our favour if Stats are to be belived.

    I still think it'll be a draw.
