As I understand it (I'm not a Catholic), the Catholic Church promotes 1 partner, get married, have a child, bring it up as a catholic and then die and go to heaven. Pretty simplistic summary of Catholism but hey! So, if you truely belive in the teachings of Cathol (thanks Eddie Izzard) then you should follow this and the Churches teaching to abstain until you find this partner (who has done the same), have sex to breed and all will be good... Now, if you decide that you don't want to follow the churches teachings/beliefs strictly and **** around then you should wear a condom - this is your personal responsibility. You go againt "your" churches teaching then be responsible. If you however go against these teachings and **** around without taking responsibility then take the consequences. If you don't follow religion, you still have personal responsibility not to be a **** and **** around by bagging it up ... but even then, folk don't and pass on STDs and Aids! Whose to blame .. themselves! Same rules apply whether you follow religion or not!

I don't believe you did. You talked about abstinence being a sure way of not passing on STDs. But you are ignoring the real life fact that people go their lives having more than 1 sexual partner. As you failed to answer my question, I'm guessing you included. He is held in high regard in places like Africa and you are only being naive to think that if he gave the nod to use condoms then millions of lives could be saved.

I would say that this problem of AIDS cannot be overcome merely with money, necessary though it is. If there is no human dimension, if Africans do not help, the problem cannot be overcome by the distribution of prophylactics: on the contrary, they increase it. Pope Benedict Thats right the medicines make it worse.
