1-1 FT. Mediocre, if comfortable, first half. Bloody awful second half. The players went to the beach 45 minutes early and basically did **** all. Palace were quite happy with a draw and they still nearly nicked a winner in injury time. Not good enough.
Thursday night playing a tractor factory 1st eleven it is then , come on Enic get your cheque book out and do the business
Disappointing season comes to a halt. And to see Mourinho and his team celebrating like they have won the Champions League is depressing. Roll on season 2020/21...
Job done Cup final result is irrelevant to us now a strange season out of the way...looking forward to Jose’s first full season with us COYs
**** season but somehow finished top 6 Jose got good results overall. Time to get in some players and improve next season. Top 4 and trophy has to be the target. Let’s see what happens in the transfer market
Chelsea 2-0 Wolves FT. Leicester's 10 men dumped into the Europa League at the last hurdle by The Penalty Team.
All things considered, top 6 is huge European football and with a manager who has won the competition twice, could be interesting
To finish 6th is pretty remarkable considering I wrote our season off in November. The football has been poor and too many players need to seriously **** off but all in all another season in Europe, albeit not the premier one this time, is really important to have.
Nah, sorry KH but scraping a last ditch Europey League spot, 12 months after a CL Final and 4 years of strong CL qualification is not something to celebrate.
From 14th to 6th and our record under Mourinho has been challenging for top 4, compared to the relegation form under Poch. I know Jose isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s getting results and I’ll take it while it continues. Big summer of recruitment now, we’re relying on squad players like Winks and Sissoko to start too many games and the likes of Gio clearly need to recover from injuries and get a rest. I don’t want to call optimism or pessimism until the transfer window passes but I’m certainly interested to see where Jose can take us. We’ve obviously gone backwards this season (season and a half really, CL run excepted), but I’m hopeful that Jose can take us forward again next season with a renewed and rebalanced squad.
Several of you said we would not get European football this season. Anyone care to admit they were wrong?
I'm not sure that there's anything to admit. It's not debatable, is it? We still have to qualify though, if the filth manage to beat the other filth.
I think I know the answer, but we are definitely in even if Wolves win Europa and Arsenal win FA Cup?
Yup. That’s why getting 6th was huge and why the touch line had a bit of a celebration at the end of the game.
I was wrong. I also said missing out on Europe would be good for next season (domestically) but gotta admit that I’m glad Spurs finished 6th and will be in Europe now
