Right, I know when they said, they were not sure how many would take part, just said up to 6000. Broad is certainly doing the business, I just hope the weather holds. Maybe another Stokes/Buttler opening partnership?
I've just watched 3rd day highlights and a near perfect day for England and in particular Broad. Good to see the opening partnership get a good stay at the crease and then Root looking good when he came in. Quite a quiet match for Stokes, 20 runs in the first innings are not batting in the 2nd, and of cause no bowling. Let's hope the can quickly wrap this match up.
Could not understand why Root did not open the bowling with Broad and Anderson to try to force the follow on, considering what the weather forecast is like.
probably still miffed about missing the first test. these things can spur a player on. i recall stuart elliott once getting a first half booking for breaking a tranmere goalkeeper when it clearly wasn't his fault. i could see that he had a sense of injustice from it. we know what happened after the break.
I wonder if the bio-bubble business got them down a bit, don't think the Caribbean temperament is well suited to being cooped up! England were good though, don't think anyone let themselves down.
Great credit to the Windies for coming over, and yes, you could well be right being cooped up might have some affect on them. However they do look as if they have the makings of a reasonable good test team again. Let's hope so, I always enjoyed watching them play. Test cricket for me is still the number one format of the game.
