Assuming our injuries are still troubling us, I can see Liverpool putting on a real show. If so it could be painful. I'll go 6-2 to Liverpool If we have a few back we might keep the score down, but there is a reason they are champions. Games against these and Man C etc are free swings. Or at least they should be. However looking at how our fans have reacted to hammerings off much better sides, I don't think you get a free swing here as manager. Which is a shame because I think it helps the team to know that the fans accept you are up against it, could get absolutely smashed but will help you have a go. We seem to be good beforehand accepting we will get smashed most likely, but then call the manager all the names under the sun immediately afterwards The sooner this post COVID debacle is done with the better. Absolute ****e as far as I'm concerned. No atmosphere, no tempo, basically just a load of pre season/training matches.
the injury things a fallacy... last game only two of Bruce's prefered 1st 11 were missing... weve one or 2 injuries of note and been rotated badly during a crazy fixture schedule so o think being burned out is a bigger issue personally
Coincidence. Now can you do that letter to the Premier League Owners and Directors Assessment Committee.
Well if the injuries are ok its all good, but we had more than two missing against Spurs. Our preferred first choice 11 would be: Dubravka, Manquillo, Rose, Fernandez, Lascelles, Shelvey, Hayden, Longstaff, ASM, Almiron, Joelinton or Gayle - only 5 of those played and Manq was on his way back from injury. I mean you could argue Willems too as he was ahead of Rose for Bruce, and Bruce has even dropped Rose in favour of Manquillo so I don't think he's been massively impressed at times. So to suggest its being made up is slightly disingenuous. Not surprising when its related to Bruce I have to say - its been common place all season as he isn't Rafa. We had more back against Brighton of course. I think we only had 3 missing there. He doesn't have the squad to rotate really. As we saw against Man C, if he thinks its a game we can write off, then he will rotate. But we have to accept that our bench has had regular appearances from Muto, Atsu, Allan, Young, Kraft, Yedlin so his quality and experience is incredibly limited. Again it all comes back to one thing and it isn't the manager, as it never is at Newcastle, its the owners lack of investment.
I'm going for 2-3 to us. Joelinton to come on at 2-0 down, bang a quick brace, both coming on the break, second one nutmegging Van Dijk on the way. Andy Carrol to come up with a last minute winner, out jumping Van Dijk. He's due a bad game, might as well be against us.
to be honest it's got to be more exciting than watching us at the moment I will probs end up watching 3 or 4 games at the same time
