@Tobes On a totally unrelated note, I finally got around to watching "Of time and the City" last night (which I've had for about 5 years on a shelf). Have you seen it? I liked it but didn't love it, I guess that's part of a representation for the city of Liverpool. My kids were born there and I've lived here 13 years but it's always going to behind Newcastle (nostalgia > logic) I suspect in my mind. Was good to see a well done documentary on the city though, love that kind of stuff. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10 but would highly recommend it to anyone from Liverpool or the surrounding areas.
Which of the top 8/10 should Newcastle by supposed ‘right’ be ahead of mate? You seem to forget that you’ve been relegated like, a fact that you can’t fully pin on Ashley can you? You’ve made some ****e footballing decisions and you are where you are. You’ve now reestablished yourselves as a PL club, so you can build from here.
I'm not sure why youve responded with that tbh mate my point is that before Ashley took over nufc was in Europe including the champions league 13 out of 15 seasons .. I'm saying the club's gone backwards and yes as you say even relegated twice. I even said were a small club ... thats what we are now.. but I think all fans would be unhappy with the slide. let's not forget were the 9thmost successful English club and 18th richest in the world
Cannot argue with this. Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of Ashley, nor of Bruce. I just sort of accept parts of it all now and once I get my head around that (and it is tricky to do) I can see some positives. Bruce has done better than I was expecting and I actually don't think we'll be talking about relegation next season (I think we have a number of younger players who are improving and getting plenty of game-time; if we had an Ings/Rondon/etc I suspect we'd be sneaking into the top 10 this season as Joelinton has been utterly abysmal). My main concerns are the long-term issues. Our facilities are horrendous and Ashley will not be dropping a penny into those. We will likely be able to pay off more of the loan to him (despite Covid19) and in a handful of years it will be gone entirely. In the meantime just try and get what you can from the club, we're not an absolute embarrassment but I'd look elsewhere this weekend as it's going to be a massacre.
I agree mate . Bruce has done the job and we're where we are under Ashley. That's unlikely to ever change I accepted it early on i ashleys reign ... some i remember kept thinking hed change... it took many years before everyone realised. the takeovers still not off btw... although I've lost faith in light of the events recently.
It's a film, made with the Capital of Culture in mind from about a decade ago: It was a huge hit with critics though didn't do as well with audiences. Having watched it I can see why, if you don't know Liverpool, it falls a bit flat.
has it **** more doubt .. looks to be edging towards off this week .. reports have gone for poch Cavani Koulibaly and coutinho to Bruce, a new fun88 deal and staff losing their jobs gotta laugh it off
fact 13 times in the 15 seasons including the champions league before Ashley took over thats why I said it
So you’ve flip flopped again..... Who’d have possibly seen this coming....... What piece of ‘news’ has prompted this latest false hope mate?
Have you actually read that article? You probably should. It offers absolutely nothing in terms of ‘news’ and it concludes...well, don’t let me ruin it for you. Tony Evans is a fat Kopite beaut btw.
