They have breached competition law by forcing customers to purchase non sport related packages to watch football.
If it's true about widespread banning, BEin are likely in breach of contract giving grounds for termination of the MENA TV contract by the PL. IF it is true.
Suspect it is more down to the ongoing diplomatic dispute. Anywhere else BEIN would have just been smacked with a fine and told to stop the practice.
More than likely. They have isolated themselves from the others and they are showing Qatar who is boss.
This situation is such a farce .. it's just someone wanting to sell a football club and someone wanting to but one. They have the money and it's in the long term interest of the club and the city of newcastke that it is sold.. that's all that should come into it. Whatever goes on outside that should be dealt with separately. The premier league shouldn't have the power to stop this.. full stop.
I never thought we'd be looking at end of July early August still with no conclusive information one way or the other. The only thing thats conclusive is it's business as usual, but even that would still take place just in case it fails. It's an absolute joke.
This IS interesting. But will delay the takeover even further. Why would Egypt and Bahrain do the same? If they do Bein are ****ed. The PL will have not other option but to renegotiate the TV deal. It would put SA in a significant position. What does that mean for the takeover. I don’t know.
This is interesting. It gives some context to the Saudi decision. https://www.google.com/amp/s/englis...ourt-approves-beIN-Sports-penalty-of-22-6-mln
why don't the PL just sell to each country separately why does one country has to have control over another it also seems that BeIN likes to sue anyone but always gets crapped on in the courts
Sounds like BEin has been naughty and we only hear one side of the story from the media. Those decisions give credence to the Saudi decision to ban BEin.
but it would seem sensible for all the countries to have their own rights to the PL and the subject of Piracy would lie within their own countries I mean you wouldn't want a French company having control of the German League or a German country having control of the PL
