Good: 1) Ghosts. 2) Top of the league. 3) Dale Stephens Bad: 1) The continued delay of JA's book. This anticipated best seller can't be released soon enough! 2) Robbie Elliot's claims that ''I never wanted to leave''. 3) Not enough non-league players in our squad.
Good 1] Chris Solly, fast becoming my early nomination for player of the season! 2] Being unbeaten in the league. 3] The old guy for the last few years who turned up just to shout "rubbish" not sitting near me anymore Bad 1] The lack of Green and alonso in the starting XI 2] The few fans around me who have got on the teams back when we're passing it around for not attacking enough, and then complain after we've attacked why we didn't hold onto the ball (there very fickle around me) 3] The 5 subs rule!
Good -Chris Sollys solid performances -genuine ability in the team, always a sense that we can win even if we're a goal down -top of the league Bad -relatively poor atmosphere at home games -Danny Green not playing much -Rob Elliots departure
On the subject of fickle fans I would like to complain about the guy near the front of K block N. Upper. Everytime he stand up to shout abuse for the most minor of mistakes, I want to push him over the edge into north lower
Three things I'm happy with. 1. Style of football. 2. How the players have gelled so quickly - credit to the manager and his staff. 3. We look like a side that has some passion and spirit again. Three things I'm not so happy with. 1. I have concerns about our defence. It's the weak link in our team. 2. We seem to get far too casual when we take a good lead. 3. The Sheffield Wednesday result and performance. We should have slaughtered them.
Good - Rock Solid partnership of Morrison and Taylor - Hamer recent performances - An injury-free season so far for BWP Bad - fickle home fans who turn on the team and/or individuals without any just cause - Our inability to defend a 2 nil lead without conceding a goal, or just our inability to play out the remainder of a game when we are a few goals. Makes for a great game but we don't need the high blood pressure thanks - The bias towards the home grown guys (Solly and Wagstaff) even when they are not playing more than "ok"
I shall dig this thread out after the next ten games and see how/if our opinions differ. I will always have the retention of Paul Benson as one of my 3 bad, though!
Do you mean the 18th century theologian or the soul-jazz legend with a rest-stroke picking style similar to that of Django Reinhardt?
Earl Klugh's your man here with George 'bad' Benson
Good - No more Parky - No more free advertising for Evian - No more rancid comments like "there an honest bunch of lads" Bad - No more Parky baiting - Asda own is just as good - No more comments like "e can take over from Wenger n all" FOP
good 1. no more a2c 2. no more silly palace doris on Football League Show (it being my weekly fix and only way to see other league 1 teams in action) 3. dale stephens bad 1. banal threads clogging up this board 2. gary megson 3. london riots - horrible to see it from afar but i guess better than being there.
FHB and I were discussing him only last month on here, SC... Turn to Page 10 of the threads and look at "Thumb Twiddling". A truly extraordinary musician.
Not as extraordinary as these two Tweaks
Seeming as you went through the trouble of finding which page it was on, I shall go look! And apologies for not reading it before.
