Good, there's loads of farm land/fields around the edge of the city that somone will sell at the right price. I'll miss the KC but I'd rather have a brand new stadium with top class training facilities! F*** HCC :)

The thing is about this is that now we will be biting our own noses off to spite our own faces.

Saying "PHUCK HCC" is an understandable sentiment, but the people of Hull are HCC and therefore it is they that are going to loose out MASSIVELY from this. If a Sports Village is built at Melton, how will the under privileged kids of West Hull benefit?

I said yesterday that the only reactionary power we have now is to vote out Labour and never vote for them again (even that I would not be keen to do because not all councillors are power abusers like Geraghty.

It would suit me as I could walk to games in about ten minutes.

That said Hull City should play in Hull not a village nine miles outside of the city .

Can't see it happening anyway .

It's unlikely that Geraghty is alone onn this - councillors are rarely brave enough to be the sole owner of a controversial decision.

I'm sure there is a group of "Old School" Labour politicians, but equally there will be new labour councillors as well.

Once a power structure is in place in government (either local or national) it is very difficult to dislodge (and I'm talking internally within the party not in regard to the electorate).

If Allam did decide to build the sports village at Melton , it would give a wider catchment area for the upcoming stars of tomorrow ( within 1 hour of training facilities).

As for Gerraty saying Hull Fair will stay at walton street - why not put the fair at the humber bridge car park , and use Priory Park as a park and ride to it with shuttle busses often and plenty? It would be more accessible to the people who come from out of town to go to the fair.

I dont think Hull City Council will move the fair into the East Riding.

I would have thought East Park would be a good place for the fair, or maybe somewhere up near Kingswood, perhaps a purpose built showground that can be used for other attractions throughout the year.

If the council aren't letting us have the KC, I'd rather we ****ed off somewhere else than just play along with their silly games like they want us to.

Remember the leader of that popular entity, Humberside County Council? The future of sport is definitely in Ice Hockey and that minority M62 corridor bastion of sporting excellence!!!!!!!

the Humber Bridge would be the perfect place for Hull Fair, but politically that can never happen

True, would never put the fair in the East Riding, but the Stadium and Sport Village would look good near the bridge.

Some good ideas on here, but we might as well be suggesting these to next doors cat. Unfortunately what the blinkered councillors fail to understand (and see) is the all year round revenue generated for local businesses, by such a sporting facility. A sad fact that their only (?) concern is the 8 day long money sucking farce known as Hull Fair. FFS

Moving to Melton would just alienate anybody living in East Hull or East of Hull its the most stupid idea ive heard of regarding location of a stadium

Melton would be far easier to get to for us in East Hull. I certainly imagine that I would get home quicker, straight onto the A63 into East Hull.

Those in West Hull who are used to a short walk to the game are probably those who are "alienated" the most.

But not as alienated as we all, as a fan base, are at the moment if we stay where we are, just going along with the council.

There's a load of farm land at the Humber Bridge roundabout(next to the old Hessle land fill), maybe we could stick it there? It's just off the Clive Sully and on the junctions of the Beverley and the Bridge routes.

We'd have to come up with a new stadium name, I wonder what it could be? (the address would be Boothferry Road by the way) :emoticon-0105-wink:
