In the shadow of the KComm Stadium this morning you can see a display of huge Liverpool FC flags fluttering in the breeze from a big double stall at Walton Street market. Demand must be there for this sort of ****e because the stall is heaving with Liverpool memorabilia, scarves, flags, banners, shirts the lot, Here in the middle of Hull, the rugby town.
How bad that the presentation in an empty area 100 miles away from Hull could warrant this.. perhaps afterwards they can all gather at the marina and leave 2 tonnes of **** for others to clean up as well...
It’s just got worse. Just seen a father and son in the store I work in. Both in brand new Leeds shirts. Infuriates me the lost generation of young kids we have now. Young uns Used to be seen everywhere in City shirts. We will soon be back to the mocking we older fans used to get in the 70s/80,s.
16 years of waiting to get a new kit and all the children grown up (thankfully) not following deluded local parents... Norwich went up as champions...
Hull, and Hull City has had big support for the scousers for donkeys years, my own loathing for them began in the 60s when 'supposed' city supporting mates were more interested in their success than ours. Worst example was FA cup semi final day, the scousers were playing Man City before our match kicked off, hundreds of our 'supporters' were crowded around the concourse tv's cheering every move, when they scored OUR fans went ballistic - what a stomach churning spectacle before a Wembley semi final against real enemies. I doubt many other clubs in the country would have such support.
Well the facts are Hull City have a very good record against Liverpool in the Premier League and the last 3 times they played us at the KCOM we have won. I sincerely hope all those games pissed off the glory hunters in our midst.
The full record at the KCOM is good: 08/09: Hull City 1-3 Liverpool 09/10: Hull City 0-0 Liverpool 11/12: Hull City 3-0 Liverpool (pre-season friendly though) 13/14: Hull City 3-1 Liverpool 14/15: Hull City 1-0 Liverpool 16/17: Hull City 2-0 Liverpool Overall: 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss.
I missed the 3-1 game as I was recovering from illness so watched in a pub. 2 local “fans” of Liverpool where stood next to me squirming as City ripped Liverpool’s arse. Couldn’t take it and walked out. ****ers.
I've not seen many others but I do and not just when we are playing at Anfield either. It arouses friendly curiosity, usually precursed by, "Is that a Wolves' shirt, mate?"
Some **** on Cott Rd near West Bulls pub has a massive Union flag with the TWS badge across it hanging out a front bedroom window. Anyone got a spare brick? ****.
Sports Direct biggest seller of replica kits outside Liverpool is the store on Kingswood. And sadly, that is Fact. Whereas a very close neighbour, from Leeds, supports Leeds, has kept a diplomatic silence on both clubs and sees no need to wave any such flags.

please log in to view this image They're in every town in the land, and many towns abroad. Low self-esteem individuals , looking to connect with something successful, exciting and positive to validate their disappointing lives (or underachieving RL team).
For the 3-1 win, I remember this obnoxious as **** scouser on my uni course, who came up to me on the Friday before the game and asked "so, who many do you think you'll lose by?" Me, not letting it slide, simply said "we won't, we'll win by two.", not really believing it. Bloody wish I'd put a tenner on that. The lecture that we had on Monday morning was a fun one... he tried to avoid me all day But I eventually got him and simply asked "how many did you think you'd lose by?". In comparison, one of my mates I made at uni, who was also a Liverpool fan (one of the few decent ones out there), thought that they'd lose, maybe because he actually watched other teams and knew we were a decent side that year. He was one of the few Liverpool fans who wasn't blinkered.
