Good Morning. It's Wednesday 22nd July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds announce record-breaking five-year deal with Adidas The German sportswear giants will become the club's official kit partner from next season for the first time in their history. This surely is a major coup for the Whites, who, for the last sixteen years have had Diadora, Admiral, Macron and of course Kappa to assemble their kits. Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear said: "We are excited adidas has become our official kit partner.” “We’re looking forward to our return to the Premier League with anticipation next season and partnering with adidas, who are one of the most recognisable names in sport, represents a new beginning for the club. “At Leeds United we continue to grow on and off the pitch and this record-breaking deal is another important step for the club.” please log in to view this image Meslier confirms three year deal Illan Meslier has given an interview with French media outlet Quest in which he reveals that he “will sign Thursday for three years with Leeds.” The 20yo shot stopper has been in fine form since Bielsa threw him in at the deep end following an eight game ban for former first team keeper Kiko Casilla. With the young Frenchman between the sticks, the Whites has won six, drawn one, and lost one. Leeds have activated the clause with Ligue 2 side Lorient setting the wheels in motion to make Mesliers signing permanent with a fee pre agreed around 6m. please log in to view this image Bielsa's Pre match press conference
Article recommended on my news feed this morning giving an insight on Bielsa. Enjoyed it so thought I would share it on here. It's quite lengthy! https://www.lanacion.com.ar/deporte...united-premier-league-wetherby-nid2396596/amp
That’s the keeper in place, now a CH, like I said last week I would be going for John Stones. I think the MF and striker have already been identified and will be coming from Argentina. The press in Bielsa home country is really put him on a pedestal, we need to get him signed up ASAP.
Morning all. Those concept shirts in Ells post. Not sure about the goalie one but I think the other three are phenomenal. John Stones would be a good shout but might be too expensive.
I actually don't mind the concept keeper shirt but isn't it the same pattern Arriva had on their bus seats in the late 90's? I know it's all speculative until anyone actually signs but I'm feeling a bit more confident about being in the Premier League with some of the ambitious names being thrown around. This time it isn't just a ploy to sell season tickets!
Good morning everyone Great news on meslier, 6m a snip for someone who could become a top premiership keeper, doe's that now mean he will be our permanent no1, or still basically be no2 to the the clown, i must admit i was quite shocked to see kiko picked above him for the Derby game, but was that down to a minor injury or a rest maybe ?. I must admit i will break out another tinny when i hear officially that Bielsa will be giving us another season or two,as was slightly concerned when i read on here that he has never stayed more than two seasons at a club his original goal of getting us back to where we belong in an incredible twenty four months he achieved, just hope as with any blockbuster, their will be a sequel to this, ie he gets us playing in europe.
I love the kits, but as already mentioned not sure about the keepers, WHY do keepers shirts have to be so bright ? as this would give an attacker an advantage, when having to make a split second decision on where to place the ball, surely something green or camouflage even, would make them slightly more difficult to spot by an attacker, any slight advantage would be an advantage.
Morning all... I have no doubt we will strengthen the squad before the first game in the top flight but a scary thought when Ben returns... We’ll have the weakest looking squad we have had in 2-3 years?
On paper our team looked a lot weaker this season than last, player of the season gone, our best striker gone. Only Bielsa thought different, lucky he was right, we were wrong.
Could it make them seem bigger thus making the striker take bigger risks in trying to find the corner. I dunno, I'm just chewing the fat.
Radz was asked by a reporter the other day if Rio Ferdinands record transfer fee of £18 million would be broken this summer. Radz smiled and replied "it's very possible"
Interesting read indeed. Thanks for finding this and sharing. Just emphasised what a legend he already is!
Yeah I meant his wages. That's why I'm sceptical about Cavani. Can't see us signing make players on 100k plus a week. Especially at 33 Yr old. Of course if Ben White wants 100k plus then let him have it.
