I had a squeel from the wheel when my brake pads were not being quite right. ****ers are expensive to replace as i had to go and replace mine a couple of years ago.

It’ll be the pads catching on the discs, probably a half ****ed brake calliper.

    You’re welcome.

You should have watched the Brighton - Newcastle game last night. They actually had to put a warning on there that you should not watch this game while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Sorry to hear that fella. Sleep deprivation is literally ****ing torture.

I know you've probably looked into all sorts of remedies, but have you tried doing something like going for a swim for an hour in the evenings ? It's knackering, in a good way, will produce loads of endorphins and your body will naturally want to rest afterwards.

Might not be your bag, but stuff like that works for me.

Problem is that falling asleep isn't the issue usually, it's waking after an hour or two and not being able to go back to sleep.

Yeah, it's a complex issue. Physical exercise is a good tonic though, but I appreciate that waking again can be a ****ing nightmare. Psychologically it's ****ing draining too, telling your brain to switch off and go to sleep and it just won't.

you tried going for a piss just before bed?

in all seriousness this sounds pretty ****, i think a couple of people have gone through this **** think @Tel was one of them. Maybe they can tell you what they did? How about some strong sleeping tabs? I bought some melatonin back from HK for a colleague and my sister who had issues sleeping. I've still got some left over cause my sister didn't want it all and cost me 30 quids left of melatonin which i don't need the bint.

I admitted defeat about 2 weeks back and went and got some sleeping pills from the quack mate. As before them I’d just lie there for up to 5/6 hours unable to fall asleep. The pills eventually knock me out, but I wake about 4 hours later as they wear off. So I’m living off about 4 hrs kip.

Might sound a bit stupid Tobes but are you unable to sleep because you can’t switch your brain off? At my worst I was newly self employed with a lot of stress and a lot of people depending on me being on my game. You clearly spend a lot of time taking in information as you’re passionate about politics (no jokes) and obviously come from a workplace with a lot of responsibility and maybe stress. Then you have your duties of modding us bunch of ****wits and it might be that you’re just unable to flick the switch mentally.

CBT might be the way forward, learning some breathing techniques, when to eat, when not to eat, what not to eat, when to just pick up a book and sit in a quiet room, when to let arguments go, when to go for a walk, how to deal with worrying or angry thoughts. On a level we all pretend to be bulletproof but there’s a lot that gets in and causes us a world of **** that we ain’t necessarily equipped to deal with, regardless of how clever we are etc.

Being locked up here for 4 months is defo a large part of it mate. My usual working routine was both very busy and mentally challenging and I don’t get that same level of constant challenge when working remotely, it’s nowhere near the same. So I’m ending my day without having tired out my mind. I have actually been provided with some on line based relaxation type shizzle, but I think I’d rather order an Oz of green tbph.

Do you do any physical activity, Tobes. I’ve always struggled with sleep and a decent meal and a 4 or 5 mile walk a couple of hours before bed now helps me a lot more. This phone was a big problem, too. I was always picking it up just for a glimpse which will always keep you awake.

This was a U.K. based health and well-being type shizzle. When the quack gave me the brochure, I just smiled and said thanks, but I was fried after about 2 hours kip that day and wanted to tell him that I’d rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon than engage with fluffy bollocks like that, you absolute thundercunt. Just give me the drugs yer dog nonce.

My knee is now ****ed mate, so the kind of exercise I used to enjoy, which was 4-15 mile walks, is a now challenge. I do swim, and try and do a bit in my gym, but I’ve always hated gym work, never been me that.

I’ve never taken my phone upstairs, ever. So I can’t blame that one.

Got to drive into Birmingham centre tomorrow, should be a laugh. Hopefully I won’t get my car nicked or my face slashed.
