    I'm sure i read that french supporters label Marvin Martin 'The French Xavi'. I remember watching France play Ukraine in a friendly, and he looked like a tidy player, took his goals well too.

    Don't want Maiga though. I would prefer Pappis Cisse, Doumbia or Welliton.

    Maiga = No.

    From what I have seen which granted is not to much hes similar n style to Best and Ba.

    P.S Can I just point out that Ba has only had one GOOD game and people are starting to say hes the dogs bollocks. Dont get me wrong I would love it to be the case that he was just a slow starter but prior to his hattrick most people where saying we NEEDED another striker.

    I think its wise to scout a lot of players prior to the January transfer window in preparation to sign players early on. Not leaving it till last minute will avoid any panic expensive signings.

    I agree with Geordieginola, we need another striker.

    Out of interest, all you people saying Maiga is rubbish, how much have you seen him and why? Apparently highly thought of in France...

    We do need another striker because Ranger isn't up to scratch and seemingly never will be, Shola is Shola and we can't just have Lovenkrands as the fall back or we are in trouble should out two first choice strikers get injured.

    Maiga is a possibility but there are better out there for roughly the same amount he was estimated at.

    Definatley need to bring a striker in in January, agree we may attract a better quality striker in the summer if we continue to play well, but Demba Ba will be away for African Cup of Nations in January?!

    We definetly need another striker. I'd advocate a three out, two in policy in January. I'd like to see Shola, Lover and Guthrie moved out. I'd then like to see a striker and a left footed left back come in.

    Maiga - I find it hard to comment on him as I have seen so little. So my view has to be, if Carr says he's the man, he's the man.

    We will be without Ba for the duration of ACN so it will be nicely timed to get a striker in. If this left us with Ba, Best, AN Other, Ben Arfa. With Ranger (if innocent of recent charges) out on loan. For me we don't need Guthrie and I'd rather see the likes of Abeid, Gosling, Vuckic given a go. You'd get rid of his wages in the process which always go down well with the board.

    Pedro thinks Santon is two-footed. Right is strongest but has very good ability with both feet.

    Striker is priority.

    Oh aye and if we only got a striker I'd be happy. But I think long term I'd like to see Santon right side. I'm just a big believer in natural balance at the back. Basically in all the games I've seen him play, I've never seen him play poorly at right back. I have at left back 3 times. He is both footed in that he is competent with his left foot. But his right side is his natural side. Certainly that is his role with Italy u21's. He's got work to do to get in the team either side at present.

    Shaqiri is mentioned by Mr Wonderful and anyone who reads these boards knows I've banged on a bit about him for a while (he's my Vossen OT!) I know we probably don't need another attacking midfielder but sometimes they're too good. If he was available to us I'd love him, but I suspect he's out of our reach. Can play in the Ben Arfa second striker role too

    We'd then need to replace him though, and for the fee we'd get I cant see us getting a better cover CM.

    I've watched Shaqiri a few times since he's been mentioned on here and he's a really exciting talent.
