Yeah but Man City have deals with betting companies. You ain't allowed to bet in the UAE. Boozing would also be frowned upon but available, but they'll have booze companies attached. I don't think there is much relevance to these deals with Fun88 etc. The club have to continue to operate as normal until a deal is done. That means sponsorship etc all still has to be sorted.

Not on the shirt front. Not for merchandise they'd hope to sell.

Come on mate.. Its off

I don't think its ever really been fully on, but there is absolutely zero relevance with sponsorship deals or the types of sponsors. I just think its a bit daft to suggest because we've renewed sponsorship, or renewed it with a betting firm it has any impact. It doesn't in my opinion. As I say there are countless examples elsewhere of why it doesn't matter.

I'm never been a big believer where Ashley is involved. I've said it a million times, its gonna have to be a really sweet deal to get him out. NUFC is a gold mine for him. He has expanded SD off the back of it and continues too. Look how far he has now stretched into the far east market since arriving here. Hopefully it happens, but I'm no more positive or negative because of a few sponsorship renewals. Its small fry.

How can it never have been fully on? Lol it was right at the last hurdle.

We'll agree to disagree, this ain't big news for me. The biggest obstacle is the one that has remained since Ashley took over. Ashley and the money his main business makes because of his relationship with NUFC.

Its never a done deal, until Ashley signs over the keys. I'm probably a bit suspicious by nature. I just don't trust the man at all, and think he is driven purely by money. The deal he'd be getting is good, but does it really see him any better off than if he just retained ownership? Over the long term?

I know its **** for us but I've said because of his involvement, until its all confirmed I won't believe it. The PL checks on Saudis may be a bit of a show but reality is that won't stop our deal going through. The moral compass went haywire ages ago with the PL. The government ain't gonna step in and cancel it despite the reports because they have too much business and investment going on with the Saudis.

The single biggest sticking point I can see is Michael James Wallace Ashley.

And it literally can't be now

I really hope your right. But how much longer can we rinse and repeat news which appears to contradict the deal.

There hasn’t really been anything of substance to say it might be on but there’s been a lot of (ok potentially circumstantial) events which leads to it being off.

It’s like the never ending story. Until it’s officially off it’s on?
