Anyone else angry that our goal got chopped off? You can't be offside for a squared ball, can you? Someone should tell the ref & send the linesman to Specsavers.
Looney looks like he has had an haircut on his transplanted hair thick scouse twat, didn’t realise how ugly he is!!!
He'll play again. He was doing a good job before his injury. PL is a slower pace of football, will suit Berardi and Pablo.............PL needs a Berardi like it had Hunter, Charlton, Stiles, Mackay etc. He's no more a red card/penalty risk than any other defender.
I think Poveda's making some good runs, had a nice finish - he reminds me a bit of Harrison 2 years ago, frustrating
Nope because when Roberts squared the ball, Poveda was in front of the pass and about a yard offside when the pass was made. The fact that when he had his shot he had returned to an onside position doesn't really matter much
As I understood it, the ball had to be struck forward for someone to be offside, no matter where they are when it's struck. @JonnyLosAngeles - can you give us a referee's view, please?
http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside Offside offence A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by: interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or interfering with an opponent by: preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or challenging an opponent for the ball or clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball *The first point of contact of the 'play' or 'touch' of the ball should be used
I'm not Jonny but Google says..... It is a common misconception that the ball must be played forward for an offside offence to be committed. ... If the player is closer to the opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent when it is played by a team mate, she or he is in an offside position.
