My take on the constant references to the home defeat by Leicester by a considerable margin is that Saints are now, and have recently been, brilliant, especially in the fixtures during lockdown. As such, mentioning 9-0 is the commentator's/pundit's way of counterpointing our previous lowpoint with our current form and results, just to show how far we have come. Or something.
The pundits don't actually know anything about any team outside the top 6 so they just fill the time with what they do know. Oh, yeah, these guys lost 9-0 so we can bring Leicester into this and erm their manager wassisname is kinda a bit like Klopp so now we can talk about Liverpool.
I suggest that you get to the pub at 12:00, and drink as much as you can in the two hours before kick off. Then, whatever they show on TV, you can still cheer on the boys, and sing OWTS at the top of your voice, until they decide to stop serving you. Or you can look for a pub that advertises BT Sports.
But at least they don’t keep saying that we are the worst team for dropping points from leading positions, anymore, because we’re not.
In one of our matches during lockdown (it may have been Watford, or Norwich), one of the pundits said that Danny was so good that Liverpool would want him. Oh, hang on, they didn't want him. Still don't let the facts get in the way of another Liverpool reference, showing that pundits are wise and all-seeing.
I thought they were, I remember reading that Spoons weren't going to but I didn't think there was actually any rules around it.
They are, but the volume is to be off or on very low. Noise has to be kept to a minimum so people don’t have to shout (spreading the virus) same reason for no bands,discos, jukeboxes etc.
Yep couldn’t agree more, avoiding the pubs myself......alcohol and common sense don’t mix well At one of our spoons here in Swindon on Friday night there was a fight involving 20-30 people (videos are online) because of a group of lads queue jumping. We are happy staying at home or going to friends ATM....cheaper as well
