I have just watched footage of a couple of Brentford matches and what superb football they play. I am hoping they win their last two matches to somehow sneak into the second automatic place. It would be hard on WBA but Brentford would be breath air after some of the turgidity offered up by teams in the PL this year such as Villa and West Ham. It may help them keep hold of Benrahma and Watkins {24 goals} this season. Talking of Watkins, how far down the pecking order is he in the list of strikers who could play for England? OK, he is behind Rashford, Kane, Greenwood, Ings, and Kane. He must be next in line. He is fast, has a good touch, sees a team-mate, gets into good positions in the penalty box, and seems to have a great attitude and work ethic, an attidude that contrasts with some of the prima donnas such as Tammy Abraham who is demanding a huge weekly rise in negotiating a new contract and the Arsenal forward, Nketiah, although I hope I am proved wrong in my assertion. Vamos the Bees!! PS I was born not too far from Brentford, in the West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth, so allow me to be a little partial towards them.
If Brentford beat Stoke and Barnsley they will be promoted to the Premier League! What an astonishing achievement that would be. Come on Brentford!
I don't get the love in for Leeds, they have no more right to be in the Premier League than anyone else Saying you're glad Leeds are back is a bit like saying you're glad Liverpool have won the league again after all this time.... HOWEVER I do like an underdog story, so I would be genuinely pleased for Brentford if they manage to do it. Following last night's result it's in their hands: they've got Stoke today and Barnsley on Wednesday to finish their season
When City last lost (who was that against?), they responded with successive 5-0 wins. Watford and Norwich, all the best to you both.
93rd minute winner for Barnsley, to keep them alive for one more week. Bottom five separated by three points (assuming the Wigan deduction comes) going into the final day.
