52 goals in 124 games for Hull. 22 goals in his last full season for them, and 16 in the half season before he moved in January.

BOS has scored 8 in 74 for us. His most in a full season for us so far is five.

Anyone who thinks BOS should go for a similar amount to Bowen is wearing some very thick blue and white glasses.

Not similar but also not a quarter of the amount. Who knows what situation we’re in financially but he’s an £8m-£10m player all day long.

I guess that's ultimately for the buying club to decide, and I'll be delighted if he goes for a little more if another club swoops in. He'd be an £8m player all day long with three years on his contract. The club have clearly made the fee public intentionally to try and drum up some competition.

Hasn't Bowen played striker a lot? BOS is not a striker. Compare BOS to another of our wide men Clarke who was sold for £10 million but who I don't think Warburton has ever selected before BOS, and didn't get on the park today.

And the comparison between Jack Clarke and BOS is a complete nonsense this a price between the two

My understanding is that he has mostly played as a forward wide player, so the comparison seemed fair. Happy to stand corrected if he's mostly played up top? I've certainly seen him play numerous times out wide but not up top.

Clarke is four years younger than BOS which I think is significant.

    A few other comparisons:
    - Demarai Gray from Birmingham to Leicester for £3.7m
    - Antonio from Forest to West Ham for £7m
    - Redmond from Norwich to Southampton for £10m

Don't get me wrong, I think with a year longer on his contract £7-8m might be a realistic expectation, but with a year left, what we're getting isn't out of kilter with other transfers.

All valid. However we can't just hold out for our valuation. Perhaps we should have waited a bit for the Prem season to finish but what is for sure is we would not have got our valuation. Remember the lesson of Charlie Austin. We turned down £12 million because he was worth more . We were however forced to sell him a few months later for £4 million. A player is only worth what someone will pay and to get a good price preferably we need a bidding war between 2 or more clubs and a player willing to go to anywhere. That and the extent of the Board's need to get some money in are factors we can only guess at.

You've just listed his attributes, which I agree with. My point its only really this season he's been pulling up any trees in terms of performances.

One out of two isn't bad. She is a Northerner so the first part of the description is definitely erroneous :emoticon-0172-mooni

Now we're in agreement. We really need to hope for a bidding war, because competition really drives the value of a player up and can make the time left on his contract redundant. I could see him fitting in well at Palace. Let's hope they think £4.5m is a bargain and up the ante...

Yes, well if we had waited a week or two, perhaps we still can, we could have got a bidding war going if any of the rumoured interest from Leicester, Brighton, Leeds, Fulham, Everton and Palace was/ is real.

Yes he's young, improved on flashes of brilliance before, and this season he has been excellent, far more consistent, and been a regular starter. Surely it is his performance level now that is what potential buyers are interested in.

Those clubs are still allowed to bid for him now and agree a deal. Maybe the club decided the best way to get them to the table is to publicly accept another deal. Who knows.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but a deal is a deal, including shaking hands on it, though now I guess that's the Buddhust greeting or touching elbows. How many deals can Football Clubs make before it's a done deal. Perhaps it's not done until a contract is signed and its registered with the Football leagues, in Belgium too if it is Brugge. Perhaps if we can drag it out a few months Brexit wont allow it.
